Teenagers are not that impressionable, most of them already know about this stuff and they won’t just go out and do it because of a show. If they want to do it they will anyway whether it is on the TV or not. It is the parents responsibility to 1) Make sure whatever they do they know how to be safe and 2) To prevent the teens from watching it if they don’t want them to. And I agree with the above comment. The PTC are just drawing attention to it. And this is nothing compared to some shows in the UK.

How about if you come clean and admit you’re a paid lackey for the network that would put such “stuff” on the “air waves?” Or, would that take too much honesty on your part to admit you’re a whore for dishonest entities? I don’t think I need some self-appointed “do-gooder” organization composed of a handful of holier-than-thou individuals such as the Parents Television Council.

Until now my wife and I have managed to do a pretty good job of making sure our girls don’t watch anything we deem inappropriate. Thanks to the PTC, and the publicity they have stirred regarding this show, my girls are now asking to watch. Before, I don’t think they had any idea the show existed. Now they’ve seen video of the teenage actors and it’s gotten their interest.

Way to go Parents Television Council! Thanks a lot for working in the interest of yourselves and against parents who do try to raise their children the right way!

I wish the PTC and other self-appointed watchdog groups would go away.

Completely irresponsible and reckless. Its not ok to put this on in prime-time where teens and tweens can view. Responsible corporate sponsors should withdraw their support PRIOR to the show being aired and should be punished at the cash register if they don’t. All productions are about market share and sponsors – the constant race to the bottom of the moral cesspool, needs to be stopped. As a progressive, I was appalled by Hollywood support of Roman Polanski – he drugged and raped a 13 year old. Sorry, you go to jail. Time to stop the search of eastern religions or mysticism and get a quick grip on what’s right and wrong. Yes, the world is full of grey’s but on occasions there are some moral absolutes.

BTW: It’s far too late to start bellyaching about Hollywood corrupting our morals, isn’t it? Any innocent that’s never heard of a threesome will be watching The Lawrence Welk Show anyway.
