Sex tape? No way, never, says Sandra Bullock

In the ongoing sex saga that is the breakup of Sandra Bullock and Jesse James, the Oscar winner has stayed fairly secluded and silent to the press. So on Tuesday, when she finally had a statement, we’d hoped it would be about how she felt being cheated on, or “blindsided,” by a man whose kids she fought for. Or, maybe her thoughts one of his mistresses. But no, it was a sex tape.

In recent days, an Internet blogger has reported, according to unnamed sources, that Jesse James had a sex tape of himself and Bullock. On Tuesday morning, word from radaronline.com was that James actually had 12 tapes of himself and other women — not Bullock.

People magazine, on its website Tuesday, posted a statement from Bullock in which she says: “There is no sex tape. There never has been one and there never will be one.”

What we liked was the end of her statement, the “…never will be one.” It was sort of spiky. Had some spunk. Maybe it’s time for Sandy to come out swinging?

Mr Bullock, Jesse James, checks into rehab. Sound familiar?

It might come as no surprise to hear that Jesse James,  the tattoo-loving husband of Hollywood darling Sandra Bullock, has checked into rehab in the hope of saving his marriage. With four women now claiming to have had affairs with James during his five year marriage to Bullock, his representative told People magazine that he was seeking professional help.

“Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues,” his rep said in a statement. “He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage.”

His rep was not giving details of the treatment or the center but one source confirmed to the magazine that James, 40, a custom motorcycle manufacturer and reality TV star,  checked in on March 26. It was said to be  “100 percent his own idea,” not an ultimatum from 45-year-old Bullock whose Oscar win for best actress in ”The Blind Side” was quickly overshadowed by her marital problems.

Bullock is said to have moved out of the family home since the scandal erupted on March 15 while James has spent the last two weeks sticking to a routine, dropping his kids at school and working at West Coast Choppers in Long Beach, California.

Does his move into rehab sound familiar? James joins a long lists of celebrities whose reaction to a public scandal has been to check in for treatment. Both golfer Tiger Woods and actor David Duchovny have admitted to seeking treatment for sex addiction, a condition  some experts say is becoming  more common.  Charlie Sheen checked into rehab earlier this year as did his wife Brooke Mueller after he was charged with assault during a marital fight. Actor Rip Torn left rehab this week after being treated for alcohol addiction and pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from his arrest on suspicion of being drunk and armed inside a bank.

Jesse James in Playgirl? Nothing to lose … except his clothes

So far, in the crazy saga that is Jesse James (Mr. Sandra Bullock, for now) and his affair with Michelle “Bombshell” McGee, we’ve tried to stay away from scandalous headlines. But this one was too good. Word comes from celebrity magazine Life & Style that Playgirl has offered $500,000 to Jesse if he’ll pose nude on its pages. Life & Style quotes Playgirl spokesman Daniel Nardicio as saying “We’d want him to pose in a Coney Island freak show setting. It would be a whole circus-themed shoot…” And that would seem appropriate. (note: we tried to reach Nardicio for confirmation, but were unsuccesssful)

The reason we took note of this one — other than the fact it’s funny — is that since the news of Sandy’s problems with Jesse broke, we’ve wondered, “without Sandy’s checkbook, what will Jesse do?” No doubt, given his own level of notoriety as the star of TV’s “Monster Garage” Jesse has made some bank. But trade that in for an Oscar winner’s career? One whose most recent movie, “The Blind Side,” has earned more than $250 million at box offices? We don’t think that’s such a smart move. Then again, neither was “Bombshell.”

So, it seems to us — if the offer is real — that Jesse’s got nothing to lose, except…

But that prompts another question. Does anyone really want to see him naked, after the stories that have been written? We’re not so sure.
