It must be hard to resist when a leading fashion magazine like Vogue wants to put you on their
cover.
But should First Lady Michelle Obama have agreed to pose for the style bible so soon after Barack Obama’s inauguration, and at a time of severe economic crisis?
The Obamas have generated the kind of media coverage more usually given to A-list movie stars than politicians (not counting French First Lady and former model Carla Bruni-Sarkozy).
Obama’s mix and match, designer and chain store style, has boosted the U.S. apparel industry and been emulated by American women around the nation.

Malcolm McLaren, the man who gave us The Sex Pistols, has found the real punks -- bankers. In an interview with Britain's The Observer, he says punk was not just about spiky hair and ripped t-shirts.
"It was all about destruction, and the creative potential within that. It turns out that the bankers may have been the biggest punks of all."
