Threats follow cuddles in budding Justin Bieber-Selena Gomez romance

Photo

They said they were just friends and laughed off the photos a few weeks ago that suggested there might be a teen romance budding.

But  Justin Bieber broke the hearts of millions of his young fans when photos surfaced on Monday of the 16 year-old singer canoodling (bare-chested)  with Disney star Selena Gomez, 18,  (wearing a bikini) on a yacht in the Caribbean over the New Year.

Just to set the record straight, the pictures that we saw from paparazzi photo agency site Bauer Griffin didn’t actually show the kids kissing.  But they sure were up close and personal.

Nothing alarming there, you might think. Unless it’s the still boyish frame of the young Canadian crooner.

But the pictures were enough to set off a torrent of nasty Twitter messages aimed at Gomez from Bieber’s young (ish) fans, including a number of death threats to the young star of Disney’s “Wizards of Waverly Place”.

“roses are red, violets are blue, @selenagomez if you’ll break @justinbieber’s heart I’m gonna kill you”, and  “@selenagomez stay away from Justin pedophile, retard wait i’m gonna kill ya in the night underneath your smelly bed,” were just a couple of the over-the-top reactions.

Americans were quick to note that any sexual relationship between Bieber at 16, and “older woman” Gomez would amount to statutory rape under U.S. law as Bieber is well below the age of consent.

COMMENT

You guys should stop being so over reacting about this! If you wanna hate than go to Iraq cuz thats a place for hate! you guys shouldnt be judging over someone elses personal life. And stop sending death threats to Selena what did she ever do to you??? If their not in love so what. If they are BACK-OFF and be happy for them! Gosh you guys are making such a big deal out of this! Who cares if JB like older women?? Does it matter to everyone that they are together???? Its either STOP hating, Stop sending death threats(she didnt do ANYTHING), or be HAPPY. Its their choice not yours! If you dont have anything good to say don t say anything at ALL

Good friends, chemistry, complex feelings — but no romance for “Twilight” stars?

Photo

They’re “really good friends” with major chemistry and “a multitude of feelings for each other”… BUT “Twilight” stars Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart say they are getting really, really fed up with persistent media  reports claiming they are in love, or secretly dating.

“It doesn’t make any difference  what you say (to the tabloids). I’ve literally been across the country (from Kristen) and it’s like, ‘Oh, they were on secret dates!’ It’s like, ‘Where? I can’t get out of my hotel room!’” Pattinson tells Vanity Fair in its December issue.

Stewart sounds even more impatient: “It’s so retarded,” she tells the magazine. “We’re characters in this comic book.”

That might prove the end of the tabloid match-making of the past year.

But “Twilight” director Catherine Hardwicke revealed that the couple did share major chemistry while filming the first movie in the vampire book series — a fact that was obvious to the movie’s millions of fans, and which has given some credence to all those off-screen romance rumors.

“What Rob and Kristen had is a multitude of feelings for each other. Complex feelings for each other. It was what we needed. Complex, intense fascination,” Hardwicke tells Vanity Fair.

As Hardwicke wasn’t on board for the much-anticipated “New Moon” sequel, guess we’ll have to wait and see whether all those multitudes of complex, intense, fascination feelings between the pair have progressed in the second movie.

COMMENT

My daughter is a huge Twilight fan, so I got sucked into being interested…nice pun, huh? I think I finally get this Rob/Kristen thing and it took Catherine Hardwicke’s comment to make me remember my own similar experience. When I was 20, (20 + years ago) I had an “intense fascination” with a guy I worked with. When I broke up with my long term boyfriend, “work dude” and I became inseparable, first as friends then as more. While the physical attraction and “chemistry” with my work friend was AMAZING, we really weren’t “dating” or boyfriend/girlfriend in the traditional sense. It was an exciting, clandestine “thing” that was hot as hell but difficult to explain. We both had recent “ex’s” who knew all our friends and family and it was just simpler to keep it “our thing”. When “the thing” ended, no one knew so we just went back to friends and it was fine. My guess is that’s Rob and Kristen’s real deal….

Supermodel Elle puts an end to dating rumors

Photo

Australian supermodel Elle Macpherson has had it with reports that she is dating a convicted drug smuggler, Brian Burgess.

In a statement the 44-year-old model and mother of two emphatically denied any romantic association with Brian Burgess who was found of guilty of drug trafficking in Australia in 1996. He was deported to England after spending four years in jail and now lives in London where he runs a removal company, according to a flurry of press reports.

“Miss Macpherson is disappointed her friendship with Mr Burgess has been so casually misrepresented for commercial sensationalism. Furthermore Miss Macpherson has a reasonable expectation of privacy in relation to her personal life; in the absence of a romantic element, the publication of the photograph and the innuendo created by it is a gross interference of Miss Macpherson’s rights,” said the statement.

The statement said that Miss Macpherson was aware of Burgess’s past conduct and also that he has and continues to take significant steps toward restoring his life.

“Any continued misrepresentation or invasion of privacy is likely to be the subject of legal proceedings,” the statement concluded.

Well, that clears that one up.
