In my blog I cover one of MatlinPatterson&#039;s directors, Lap Wai Chan who is a fugitive from Brazil. Lap Wai Chan had attempted to siphon off some Variglog funds into MatlinPatterson&#039;s Swiss bank account. MatlinPatterson had purchased Variglog, Brazil&#039;s airline. Brazil attempted to confiscate Lap Wai Chan&#039;s passport. Seems he is Brazilian, Chinese and American - indeed a worthy recipient of TARP funds.</description>
