As for the news going away, not really in GS’s court given that it isn’t really them that keep subpoenaing themselves or writing moronic articles for the NYT etc

The reasoning is simple: the government can’t afford to hire the staff necessary to go through the dump, so it has the option of open sourcing the research process.
