Fannie Mae is like the Idi Amin of housing finance, installed to make all its commercial competitors look pristine by comparison in exchange for cash duly shoveled to them out the back door.

Other than woe betiding its customers of course Fannie’s doing a fabulous job. A Fabulous Fab job, even. The banks will sorely miss ‘er when she’s gone.

Banks are good at cutting through bureaucracy when they can make money, big money, off it. If not, oh well, sucks to be you.

One in a million has a neighbour that wants to help in this way and you expect to find the one in a million banker that gives a crap about a couple of ordinary folk?

Absinthe is right, but dear Lord, can’t any one in a bank use common sense to cut through bureaucracy?

Not that this whole situation isn’t ridiculous, but can Sikanovski go through First Look instead of AHP? If possible, it’s probably the path of least resistance here.

Sadly, the Jorge Newberry link idiotically complains about IE6 (not by =my= choice) and–instead of showing the page with some features that may not work well–directs one instead to a download IE8 page.

If someone at Newberry’s organization is stupid enough to think this is a good idea, I hope their IT planning isn’t involved in their business model.
