Yes, I received the Lincoln offer pop up, responded to it accepting the offer, and nothing happened. I have never received an email confirming the complimentary offer. When I wrote emails to the Times, the customer service department confirmed that they were having problems with the program, but no resolution has ever occurred. When I called the Times, I was told I never received the offer and no help was provided. This whole thing is a frustrating, poorly executed flub. Left a terrible taste and a huge waste of my time trying to resolve the snafu.

I got the pop up offer. It didn't work and NY Times customer service is telling me I didn't get the email. There was no email. This was a poorly executed ad campaign and no one at NY Times cares a whit.

I accidentally deleted my NYT - Lincoln email.
Will they be sending another offer?
I don't know how to recover deleted email.
Oh, woe is me!

Subscriptions are for a four-week period, not a calendar month. Your subscription can't expire in the middle of a period, because you buy subscriptions in four-week units. So relax. Your quota won't reset until your subscription has expired.

Even if you're not immediately providing a credit card number, I suspect that a fair number of people who try the first year, will decide, when they get the warning a month or two before it expires, that they just want to buy access on an ongoing basis, rather than letting it expire and hoping for another freebie.

Felix, what is the browser in that picture? I am curious. It doesn't look like Safari or Firefox.

Perhaps this is a silly question, but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere.

Is the Times going to continue showing general ads to people who subscribe?

Salon used to do something very similar. Non-subscribers could watch an ad and have free access for some period of time (was it 24 hours?).
