Bad language aside, George Carlin was right. We aren’t in the club.

Naive application of portfolio theory is of course naive. Few people actually use mean-variance optimization to create portfolios. Those that do, usually know what they’re doing and the assumptions that go into it. There’s a huge literature on trying to correct its short-comings.

I love this quote from Levy… after having said he should be presumed innocent until proven guilty …adds this…

“I do not know—but, on the other hand, it would be nice to know, and without delay—how a chambermaid could have walked in alone, contrary to the habitual practice of most of New York’s grand hotels of sending a ‘cleaning brigade’ of two people, into the room of one of the most closely watched figures on the planet.”

So she was foolish to have gone in alone? He had the right to try to seduce her as she was alone? Blame the victim?

“hold it against all those who complacently accept the account of this other young woman, this one French, who pretends to have been the victim of the same kind of attempted rape, who has shut up for eight years but, sensing the golden opportunity, whips out her old dossier and comes to flog it on television.”

Ah yes, even though she did try to use the press, she was denied. Let blame her as well, as she “pretends” …”this one French.”

frigging hypocrite…
