On the other hand, nobody since him has been more effective than he was, so getting him nuked b/c he was paying for bootie was maybe a mistake.

@curmudgeon Fair enough, but I think it’s also fair to say that there is a look the other way attitude in some states, like many other countries including most of western Europe and Canada.

@CDN_Rebel: Prostitution is legal in a few licensed bordellos in a couple of towns in Nevada (Las Vegas isn’t one of them); that’s it. Not “some states”. Not saying it’s right or wrong, but your statement is misinformation.

The question of politicians and prostitutes cuts across the political spectrum. I wouldn’t necessarily declare it a career-killer myself, but citizens might rightly question the judgment of politicians who frequent prostitutes.

Personally, I think she is capable of getting us to $2 (possibly even $1) gasoline. However, that doesn’t mean that I will vote for her as I want to have things like a job, savings, Social Security in old age, etc. as well.

Geez, low-blow on Spitzer! and you wonder why there are no strong progressives in America – any with the least bit of charisma or cajones get run down or run out of office. So what if he used prostitutes, it wasn’t with govt $$ and it didn’t effect his work (detrimentally at least.) Prostitution is legal in some states in America and I wonder why the faux moral outrage still exists around it? Frankly I find it FAR more disturbing that politicians say they don’t believe in evolution or think prayer works to solve problems.

Even Anthony Weiner didn’t do anything illegal and he was tarred and feathered. That alone should tell all about how ‘liberal’ media coverage is in America…
