The end result is quite ironic – Barclays stayed on the world map for 3 and a half years and right as it has finally ( and successfully) digested its free lunch, its home regulator kills it off…. I’ve long suspected that they were responsible for the crazy volatility in the EurUsd basis that we began seeing in late 06, but its possible they were merely the conduit and not the conductor.
