50 years ago, on the other side of town (December 4, 1962), NY Times reports Columbia University Panty Raid. 35 NY cops called on to stifle 500 “rioting students”. Barnard girls throw undies from dorm windows. NYPD Sergeant: ”The boys were getting the girls excited and the girls were getting the boys excited.”

I'm proud to have been at Cooper. I'm proud of those occupying the place now. The idea of free school is worth fighting for.

The atrocious monstrosity, an insult to injury, that Cooper Union saddled Third Ave with proves that the school has been misguided for many years. Maybe the useless metal sieves the structure is clad with can be scrapped for cash.
