There is nothing they would catch that current monitoring techniques do not already implicitly capture; the problem is that the data currently being monitored is already so expansive that the valuable parts are buried amongst the quotidian.

And by so doing, he has signaled to the vacuous demagogues of the right that they need to pile on and hate him more, because if they do, he will give them even more.

This president has pre-emptively bent over and lubricated himself for the republicans from day one. His problem is that he has made his way in the world by embracing racists – that has taught him to be fawning toward people that hate his guts in order to appease them. It has worked for him.

But that is also why this president works so very effectively against his own constituency and the values he professes to care about. He is such an utterly spineless Stepin Fetchit character that he is now the worst enemy liberals and moderates have ever had – bar none. This president is the antithesis of FDR. He leads the charge for those who hate him and what he stands for against his own. Not a fighting bone in his body – not even as a lame-duck president with nothing to lose.
