At this point doesn't it make sense to change the laws and regulate and tax the industry in a truly legit manner, since the Justice Dept is using what amounts to civil penalties anyway?

If one assigned all the behaviors & tactics used by the DEA to an individual that individual would be diagnosed as an extremely dangerous sociopath. Harming, killing jailing & enslaving people stealing their property, all done under the color of law. It is a shameful disgrace. Who in their right mind would blindly support laws wrought from pandering to blatant extreme racism, fraud & corrupt monopolistic business practices?

Pot has been used as medicine in every major culture since the beginning of recorded history and probably well before that. Pot was listed under cannabis in the US Pharmacopeia from 1850 until 1942. Pot was made illegal in 1937 but was not removed from the Pharmacopeia until 1942 because the AMA and medical establishment were opposed to prohibition. These are medical patients and their caregivers they are pursuing. Not one iota of concern for their well being.

Prohibition is a scam. Prohibition didn't work for alcohol and it has not worked for pot either. Look what alcohol prohibition did to America. Pot prohibition is doing the same. Prohibition creates an environment conducive to criminality. Prohibition creates gangs and the black market. Pot costs about bout as much as corn to grow yet it is worth huge sums of $$$ because of its illegal status. The prohibitionists have scammed the people of America out of trillions of dollars in the last 75 years. That money would have been much better spent on education public medicine, housing and job creation.

It is my belief that prohibition is a significant underlying factor in our out of control economy. It causes economic turmoil. People get arrested become unemployable and default on their loans and obligations etc.. Billions of dollars that could be taxable revenue go into an underground economy and out of our nation to the South American drug cartels. It is estimated that 50,000 people died in South America in because of the warring cartels fighting for the profits created by a black market.

It is high time all this nonsense ended ASAP before it destroys our country.

From the same folks that brought us 'fast and furious'.

All Americans should be concerned when the Federal Government attacks their own citizens for following their State laws.
