I couldn't agree more with the first post. There is no anchor to the current economic landslide. I watch as people run to bonds, commodities(oil), and currencies like(chf). It's bond rally then stock rally as everyone keeps trying to rearrange the titanic deck chairs. http://aid4families-aid4families.blogspot.com/ Is where my indicted firm supplies alternatives other than restarting the cycle over and over.

The yields on the US treasuries are currently so low that, combined with inflation outlook, they are consistent with a zero growth of the GDP in th USA well over the medium term, hardly a realistic scenario.

At http://joukoy.blogspot.com/ I wrote 31 March 2008 about the need to anchor inflation expectations quickly, but also that "the yields on the U.S. Treasuries are bound to rise and their market prices to decline irrespective of whether the steering rate will descend or ascend and whether the Fed succeeds or fails in delivering price stability."

So massive losses to the bond investors will be inescapable!
