Morgan Stanley is expected to break a string of three straight quarterly losses when it reports results but is likely to struggle to match the strong earnings of rival Goldman Sachs.

*  Boeing is expected to report a third-quarter loss tied to charges related to delays for its 787 Dreamliner and 747-8 freighter aircraft.

*  SEC officials meet at 10:00 a.m. EDT to consider proposing regulations for dark pools, which let traders of large blocks of stock hide their intentions and avoid moving share prices.

*  Results from eBay could offer further signs of a turnaround at the Web company.

*  On the final day of the Reuters Washington Summit expect an exclusive interview with FDIC Chairman Sheila Bair.
