Socially responsible living: spending or saving?

Live green. Come clean. Detox and go organic. Buy local. Sell sin stocks. Boycott this. Buy that instead. Everyone from the sixties’ earth mother to the celeb driving a Prius loves to pressure others into living a socially responsible life. Easily said. But just how hard is it to become a conscientious convert? How much time is spent looking for that hemp curtain instead of the silky satin one? And how much more will you pay for that bleeding’ blue, made-in-USA item? Can you even find an alternative? This site aims to tackle the question: how much will it cost … in time and money …to live a socially responsible life? I hope to take up new challenges on a seasonal basis.
