What I find interesting is that all the other candidates find it so easy to make their promises to the American People, but they can't tell us how they are going to fulfill those promises...they have no plan, only empty promises.

The other candidates never bring up the most important issue this country is facing and that is the total collapse of the Dollar. How can any of the other candidates promise things like Universal Health Care, or even continuing the War on Terror if they don't address the fundamental issue of economic collapse. The complete foundation of our entire society rest upon the viability of our currency, if that fails like every other fiat monetary system has in history, then everything we know collapses with it.

People are worried about the economy and well they should be! All fiat money fails, it is mathematically inevetable...what will the people do who depend on Social Security, on Medicare or Medicaid when the dollar collapses? What will all of us do when the economy grinds to a halt because the dollar is considered worthless around the world? What will we do when our investments, our pensions, our 401ks, our savings are worthless...what will we do when there are no jobs because the entire economic base of our society has followed our paper money into the trash-basket?

None, absolutely none of the other candidates are even raising this question...they are only making promises, promises they cannot keep and in most cases they don't intend to keep.

VOTE RON PAUL...SAVE THIS COUNTRY!

Dr. Ron Paul is the only one telling it like it is. for a very very long time 20 plus years ago.
Check this URL: http://forpresidentronpaul.blogspot.com/

This is my opinion as to why this is happening...

Young Americans from all parts of this beautiful country are awakening; he is the only one delivering the message that is reaching all three views, Republican, Democrats and Independents.
Do you know why? Well I do not claim to know all the variables that play into this but I bet the following has a big role and that is young Americans see what is going on with their grandparents, where Medicare is a mess, social security is gone or running out and medication is to the roof.

Then they see their parents struggling to pay the bills and getting by week by week.
Parents and grandparents sharing and commenting among themselves the good old days, talking about the days when this or that used to cost XYZ and when he or she used to work for this or that company and now all is gone.
Then this generation born from 1964 to late 1980 is starting to really feel the pinch.

Yes the pinch of what is to come, it has been building year after year, for decades our government has been making decisions and policies that at that time sounded good, or that it may fix this or that, decisions that had a good burst of economic growth but that in the long run will need to be revised.

It is here now, this generation sees, hears and is starting to feel bad economic policies made decades ago:
-1913 (16th Amendment to the constitution) then congress authorized the creation of the Federal Reserve Bank (Private institution) to control our money.
-1933 – Big year, full of bad policies among the more important are President Roosevelt signed Executive Order 6102. (Unlawful to own or hold gold) and a joint resolution to abrogated the gold clause on all existing government and private contracts was signed.
-1934 – “Gold Reserve Act” became law. This law took away title to all “Gold Certificates” and vested sole title to the U.S. Treasury.

In sum this and other measurements where executed by our government to end the “Fixed Dollar” and with it the “PAPER ERA BEGAN”.
It is 2007 and our government still feels the need to continue feeding this machine, so what does it do? It continues to issue certificates to be purchased by BIG private investors and countries. So with every approval of funding this huge government is making us “We the People” especially this and future generation debtors. Yes, Money out of thin air.

People do not get distracted by your everyday personal or trivial issues, this subject one of many does matter a LOT to you, your loved ones, and ALL of us. We need to be aware of who is going to start to put an end to this otherwise we will end up like many other great countries from the past (Example: Rome, England, Spain, Greece).
Back then they were called Empires and they ended up bankrupt due to bad policies and many, many of their people suffered.
Do not take my word for it… just as I did read the information available in books, archives etc.

A correction on that last post of mine. I meant to say "WHICH HE IS NOT." Sorry to add to the confusion I was trying to dissolve. Anyways.

Ron Paul is AGAINST THE BAN ON GAY MARRIAGE because he believes in individual rights, not group rights.

GO Ron Paul!

Here's a little clarification. A few of the other posts have said that the article is telling us Ron Paul is FOR the ban on gay marriage. WHICH HE IS. And that's what the article is saying, they just could have worded it a lot better. The title says
"the soft-spoken Texan who has opposed the Iraq war and a ban on same-sex marriages" which means he opposed the Iraq war, AND opposed the ban on same-sex marriages. But I do agree that it could have been worded a little more clearly.

If Ron Paul gets in the top few in NH, he will have to be accounted for by news. Then people will learn more about him and not feel like they're "wasting their vote" because he won't win. The argument that he's not a serious candidate will be out the window.

When I talk to people, the most common response is this:

-yes, Ron Paul is smart, qualified and honest
-the US is in trouble
-he won't win

To those who say they oppose his ideas, I explain them. Then I talk about what the Patriot Acts do to our constitutional rights. They usually have no idea what's going on. I talk about secret prisons in the United States and how Ron Paul wants independence and money for states rather than huge federal programs. I tell them about media censorship of these issues and Ron Paul. Then they understand the importance of his success.

This shows me that people are receptive to the message. The only things holding them back are lack of real information and the idea that he is on the fringe. I've become a constitutionalist in the past couple months, and I used to be a liberal. So don't be embarassed to speak to people about Ron Paul and his message! It makes sense and appeals to people once they get the whole story.

Andrew Jackson went through the same as Ron Paul. The Bankers were trying to take over all nations to gain from the wars and depressions from manipulating money supplies. The control media for this reason.
Dr. Paul is the only candidate with the answer for change. His monetary understanding has them all scared. Silence is what they offered Andrew Jackson, Abe Lincoln and John Kennedy. God speed Ron Paul. Ron Moss

Someone mentioned Huckabee and his plans to "win" the Iraq war perhaps the question should be: What does his handlers and advisors have planned for the Iraq war and war in general?

I am not sure if Huckabee is still listening to Richard Hass, but Hass has some very dangerous views in my opinion. Hass espouses the elimination of National Sovereignty, National Borders and he wants to Cede the authority of the Constitution of the United States to the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Here are a few of Richard Hass' comments on National Sovereignty:

“For 350 years, sovereignty -- the notion that states are the central actors on the world stage and that governments are essentially free to do what they want within their own territory but not within the territory of other states -- has provided the organizing principle of international relations. The time has come to rethink this notion."

"As a result, new mechanisms are needed for regional and global governance that include actors other than states. This is not to argue that Microsoft, Amnesty International, or Goldman Sachs be given seats in the UN General Assembly, but it does mean including representatives of such organizations in regional and global deliberations when they have the capacity to affect whether and how regional and global challenges are met."

"Moreover, states must be prepared to cede some sovereignty to world bodies if the international system is to function. This is already taking place in the trade realm. Governments agree to accept the rulings of the WTO because on balance they benefit from an international trading order even if a particular decision requires that they alter a practice that is their sovereign right to carry out."

"Necessity may also lead to reducing or even eliminating sovereignty when a government, whether from a lack of capacity or conscious policy, is unable to provide for the basic needs of its citizens."

If you know anyone who is even thinking about supporting Huckabee you need to have them do their research, of course just about all the candidates believe the same thing as Hass does to one degree or another.

It is really time the American People took a good hard look at the people they choose to lead them because most are leading us away, far away from our tradition of National Sovereignty and Constitutional Law!
