LIVONIA, Mich. — Republican White House hopeful John McCain may be riding high after his primary victory in New Hampshire, but he remains at odds with much of the Republican base when it comes to immigration.
That was evident when an otherwise-enthusiastic crowd heckled the Arizona senator. Unlike some of his rivals, McCain does not advocate deporting all 12 million of those in the country illegally.
“Various things need to happen depending on how long they’ve been here, what their record has been,” McCain said during a question-and-answer session. He was cut off with cries of “no, no” before he could elaborate.
McCain was also booed when he called for a temporary-worker program. Finally, he gave up.
“Life’s too short my friend,” he said to an especially persistent questioner. “But I’ll tell you this, ma’am: I’m not going to call up a soldier who’s fighting in Iraq today and tell him I’m going to deport his mother, I’m not going to do that, you can do it.”
This was met with applause and some shouting.
McCain angered conservatives last spring when he helped broker a compromise effort in the Senate that would have provided a path to citizenship for the estimated 12 million immigrants in the country illegally.
The bill foundered in the face of fierce conservative opposition, and McCain’s campaign was forced to scale back after fund-raising efforts dried up.

McCain would make an excellent president.
There are some very qualified candidates running in this election, especially those on the Republican side. What I don’t believe is that there are any saviors.
Some believe that simply getting rid of Bush will make a huge difference, but in this song, I remind them that he will be replaced by another mortal, not a superman or superwoman.

In watching all the people who are voting for people who are for amnesty, which will lead to a third world country I think there are too many stupid Ameicans to ever stop the destruction of America.

Huckabee thinks he can get them all to go home for a day and then come back and they are legal. What’s his point?
John Pelosi McCain tries to make you think he is doing it only because he wants to treat them humanely. He wasn’t too worried about them to keep them from being exploited for slaves wages for years. While the employees who hire them don’t pay workmens comp or medical so we pay for that while the companies reap the benefits and also steal jobs from Americans. He is doing it for the Mexican vote, pure and simple.
And yet they are in the lead in the election. Who are the stupid ones here?
They tell you they are going to build the fence and secure the border but if they were going to do that they would have already done it. They were gutting the money for the fence the whole time they were telling us they were going to secure the borders. Anyone who has studied this knows that they want open borders from here to Mexico. Texans are fighting right now to keep the government from taking their lands to build the Super highway from Mexico to Canada. And America will be a third world country.
Because of the European Union, those people are fleeing their countries because of the heavy infllux of Islamists, legal and illegal. A couple years ago they demonstrated in the streets of London carrying signs that said All Infidels must die.
We have terrorists, drugs and illegals coming across the border and the government is doing nothing about it.
They are fighting a tamper proof ID at the voting booths because they want illegals to be able to vote. Thats the same reason they want to give them drivers licenses.
America is doomed. There will be no more middle class. The elites will sit in their lavish, guarded homes on the hill and look down on poverty just as the corrupt officials of Mexico, India, etc do.
They have not listened to the 85% of Americans when we voted down amnesty. And after the election we will have no way to fight it.
Don’t believe anyone who it telling you that we will have a Unified Government because they have proven what backstabbing liars they are.
Those of us who are against amnesty are called racists. But the real racists are the ones who exploit these people for slaves wages. Obama , Hillary and McCain say Lou Dobbs is causing all the trouble about immigration. Are they not aware of how Americans have fought it. Do they think we are all stupid enough that we don’t know what amnesty will do to out country? Apparently, some of us are , because otherwise these candidates would be run out of town.
I hope someone reads this. I realize you how many emails you get but if you want to know what people are feeling this is it. A lot of are now aware of what a government can and will do to you.
And the way to stop it is to stop going to places or buying from people who have illegal employees. And stop giving to all charities. Stop sending money to Africa or any other country. We have to pay taxes but we don’t have to contribute. So I hope the elites who run the charities can make it on what the government gives them. Cause people are wising up to the fact that noone is doing anything for us.
Illegals getting free medical while they are cutting SS, Medicade and our brave soldiers coming home from the war can’t get the Med help they need from VA.
The Dems say they will bring our soldiers home. First of all its a lie. Second of all bring them home to what? No jobs. Overrun with illegals. No med help. Where are they going to get the people to fight their wars then. When America has been demoralized and lost their patriotism? There will be so many Islamists in this country that Osama can arrive in the back of an open convertible. And the power and money of the elites will not impress him. So thanks for all you have tried to do. But it ain’t gonna happen.
And today in Las Vegas Hillary told a room full of illegals that America needs a change of heart. Telling people that we have paid welfare, free medical ,SS etc to for years that Americans are heartless.
