Ralph Nader, the consumer advocate who has been accused by Democrats of helping hand the White House to George W. Bush in 2000, has formed a committee to explore another presidential bid.
Sure to stir up a hornet’s nest, Nader launched an Internet site to recruit campaign workers, paid and unpaid, as well as to raise money for a possible White House run.
Donors who give $300 will receive three books and two DVDs, including Michael Moore’s Sicko movie about the state of health care in the United States.
He has run several times before, including in 2004 as an independent and in 2000 as the Green Party candidate. That year he was blamed by many for siphoning off votes from Al Gore and ultimately resulting in Bush securing the White House.

please, just go away already. He must be secretly funded by the Republicans.
- Posted by bush_wackedAfter the “spoiler” effect we had from his last “run” for the White House and the price we’ve had to pay, (8 years of a developing fascist regime) I often wonder what would motivate Mr. Nader to repeat his last performance.
- Posted by MargaretWe do not need another Republican in the White House, that is the only possible outcome of his projected candidacy. God help us all!
It is time for him to pack up that Corvair and ride into the sunset!
- Posted by fureadyYou go Nader!!! Siphon votes from HillBillaRee this time!!!
- Posted by theMADblopperRalph should just sit this one out. I know independent candidates like to use the presidential election as a way to get their political message out to the public, but I doubt many of his former liberal supporters would give him a good reception since he is blamed for helping win the 2000 election for George Bush. Ralph never had very many conservative supporters to begin with so I doubt they would give him a good reception either. I doubt he would be able to get on the ballot in very many states and jumping into the race so late in the game would be considered in poor taste. Those very few who still like Ralph’s message have probably already heard it. Write another book or something Ralph, don’t waste your time running for president. Nobody cares, your 15 minutes of fame are already up.
- Posted by N. OtterYou’re right– Ralph seems made for a job like AG, while nobody inspires like Barack, who could become one of the all time greats, at least judging by the way he inspires me personally.
- Posted by Rob HI understand your point of view Nader, but will never forgive you for 2000-2008. By putting ideology over practicality, you negated whatever good you have done for this world 5000 fold.
- Posted by ChristianIf Hillary gets nominated, I would vote for Nader
- Posted by MirzaWHATEVER!!
- Posted by EnoughRalph is the only candidate that won’t be owned by the most powerful lobby in America and its MSM pigeons. See what Ralp has to say about the lobby: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8rD_rWcDR ZQ
- Posted by AJNader needs to get involved so the issues will be discussed. The Democrats were so concerned with voters in Florida in 2000 that they took every chance possible to disenfranchise Nader voters in 2004. What hypocrites. If we had candidates who took on corporate America and the special interests, Nader wouldn’t have to run. Instead, we get candidates of the trial lawyers and the insurance companies and the pharmaceutical cos. and the oil industry. WAKE UP PEOPLE!
- Posted by JeffAs a Conservative Republican and a Huckabee supporter, I welcome Ralph Nader baaaack!! This is great news. I’m sure the SOCIALISTS, Hillary and Barack are raising their eyebrows, eh?
Ralph, if he chooses to run, will bring a whole new dynamic to the presidential race, i.e., siphoning votes off the Marxist leftists, Clinton and Obama. Go Ralph, Go.
- Posted by Larkin G. MeadRalph should give it up. He is a hopeless grandstander without the full ability to serve.
- Posted by MaryWith a lack of funds he will be hard pressed to find the resources to get on the ballot in most states, unless he gets the nomination of a third party with ballot access this will be a non starter.
- Posted by warrenHey Ralph, do something worthwhile. Go to bed.
- Posted by chuckGood. Maybe the democratic party will listen to what he has to say and quit selling out to the major coporations!
- Posted by Sean77ugh… isnt this guy tired of acting like he has a chance to get elected?
