WASHINGTON - Virginia voters must be really excited to go to the polls to choose their presidential nominees, so much so that hundreds showed up on Tuesday — a full week early.
As people went to the polls in 24 other states, hundreds of residents called the Virginia State Board of Elections office wanting to know why their polling locations were closed, triple the number of calls normally received, according to WTOP Radio.
Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia don’t hold their primary contests until Feb. 12, a mini-regional primary of sorts.
And from early indications on Tuesday, it looks like neither the Democratic nor Republican nomination will be sewn up by then.
