Clinton makes new plea for cash

TACOMA, Washington - Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton, who revealed this week that she had pumped $5 million of her own money into her campaign, made a personal plea to supporters to contribute more money to her White House bid.

Clinton outpaced rival Barack Obama last year in fundraiser, but in January he raised more than twice as much as her in January, amassing $32 million to her less than $14 million.rtr1wuge.jpg

While Clinton has had success raising money from wealthy donors who gave the $2,300 maximum contribution, Obama has raked in a lot of cash from first-time contributors who have donated in smaller amounts.

At a “Nurses for Hillary” town-hall event here, the New York senator and former first lady mentioned the loan she made to her own campaign, then added, “When a friend of mine heard that I had loaned my campaign some money she said, ‘why didn’t you tell me you needed help? And of course we’ll be there for you.’”

Clinton said she had raised money from 75,000 new contributors on her Web site in the last three days.

Seeking to encourage the types of small contributions Obama is pulling in, Clinton cited the example of a young mom of modest means who donated to her campaign because she thought electing Clinton as the first woman president would send a message to her daughters that “the sky’s the limit” when it comes to opportunities for them.

She also spoke of man “who described himself as a crusty conservative” who said he wanted to contribute to Clinton’s campaign because he thought could help reduce deficit spending in Washington.

Obama, an Illinois senator who would be the first African American U.S. president, and Clinton battled to a draw on “Super Tuesday.” Obama won 13 states and Clinton eight, including the big prizes of California and New York but their delegate tally is almost even.

“I need you,” she said, urging the audience to go to her Web site and contribute.

The reason Clintons had to pump in their own $5 million was because their online campaign lacks vigor. Whereas the Obama campaign bombards me with mailers asking not only for money but also to call prospective voters, the Clinton campaign sent mails after super-tuesday which were not good…
I have provided more details in my article (cut and paste this url if the link does not work):
http://economy.franteractive.com/Politic s/pst1.html

Also, when you state that Clinton won the big prize of California, that is partially true, because delegates were awarded county by county, and Obama beat Clinton in San Francisco and Oakland (Alameda county) and Clinton beat Obama in LA and San Diego…

I gave the advice to the Clinton campaign to make their blogs unmoderated (like Obama’s), but the campaign people are insecure and moderate all comments! That is insecurity right there, and coupled with their campaign which does not have as much momentum as the Obama camp, might doom Hillary…

And I think that will be best for Democrats, since Hillary is quite polarizing… Lots of democrats don’t like her because she has a chequered past. she voted for the war, tried her hands at universal healthcare once and failed, etc. She just seems desperate to get to the white house, and her husband is helping her, that is her only strong point…

Bottom Line:

Like all of you. I know that health care is the most critical, and important issue facing the American people. Now, and in the coming elections. And like the vast majority of the American people, I want HR 676 (Medicare For All) passed into law NOW! “Single payer, Tax Supported, Not For Profit, True Universal Health Care” free for all as a right. Like every other developed country in the world has. See: http://www.house.gov/conyers/news_hr676. htm

“HR 676:
For church goers: less money to insur. companies and more to the church- lots more.
Srs on Medicare: save way over $100/wk. Because no more medigap, long term care & dental insur. needed. No more drug bills.”

But if we the American people fail to bring enough pressure on our current politicians to get HR 676 passed into law before the elections. We will have to identify, and replace all the politicians standing in the way of passage of HR 676. And, I think the best first place to start is with the politicians that blocked the bipartisan SCHIP bills for the kids. Passed by congress four times.

But what about the President. It was Bush after all that blocked the bipartisan SCHIP bill passed by congress to assure more health coverage for Americas kids. So which of the presidential hopefuls do I think will be most supportive of implementing the demand of the majority of the American people to have HR 676 (Medicare For All) passed into law immediately!

We have some very fine presidential candidates who would make good presidents. But none of the top Presidential candidates directly support HR 676, the only true Universal Health Care plan. So I am supporting Hillary Clinton. She is the only top candidate that has ever actually fought for universal health care before.

I have enormous admiration, and respect for Hillary Clinton. She fought a pitched battle against overwhelming odds back in 1993. To prevent this disastrous health care crisis that is now devastating the American people, and America. She fought so hard for the American people that she risk almost completely destroying her husbands presidency. I haven’t forgotten her heroic effort. If any Presidential hopeful for universal health care deserves my support, it’s her.

Also, if we the American people fail to bring enough pressure on our government to give us HR 676 which we all so desperately need NOW! Then we will need the most skilled politician we can get on our side to broker the best health care plan for the American people that we can get. Though it will be less than we need, and less than we deserve. The politician I think to best do this is Hillary Clinton. The Clinton’s are probably the most skilled politicians in American history.

The insurance industry, and medical industry that has been ripping you off, and killing you has given Hillary Clinton so much money because they fear her. They have also given Barack Obama so much money because they fear Hillary Clinton. They think they can manipulate Barack Obama against the best interest of the American people better than they can manipulate Hillary Clinton. There is no race issue with Hillary Clinton. The Clinton’s are the poster family for how African Americans want white people to be towards African Americans.

As always, African Americans are suffering, and dieing in this health care crisis at a much higher rate than any other group in America. The last time there was any significant drop in the African American death rate was when Bill Clinton was president.

My fellow Americans, you are dieing needlessly at an astounding rate. In higher numbers than any other people in the developed world. Rich, and poor a like. Insured, and uninsured. Young, and old. Men, women, children, and babies. And we the American people must stop it. And fix it NOW! Keep Fighting!!! Never! give up hope. There are millions of lives at stake. Bless you all… You are doing great!

“Of all the forms of inequality,
injustice in health care is the most shocking and inhumane.”
A great observation by Dr. King against the injustices in the first world… Now, if we look at Africans in Africa (Obama’s father was from there), one could easily say…
“Of all the forms of inequality, injustice in food that is hunger and starvation is shocking, and instead of giving food, giving them guns to finish off each other is inhumane.”

For long, the foreign policy of this country is screwed up…and it devastates the domestic policies like education, healthcare, economy/foreclosures/recession…

As long as we pump money into wars, we can’t help but see the dollar slide, deficits mount, and healthcare hijacked by selfish stakeholders at the cost of Universal Health Care. Now, people need to take responsibility for their actions. Hillary voted FOR the war…

Everybody deserves a second chance. So, Hillary deserves it too. But what about Obama? Can Hillary thrash McCain, who has promised 100 years of war if required like Obama? Like some wise man said a while back, if we loved our children, we would not send them to wars to get killed… think about it…

I trust Obama’s advisors well enough to give every American affordable health care… Also, he mentioned in the debate in hollywood that he will all Congressional deliberations on C-Span…So that if a congressman is carrying water for the drug companies, the American people will see it. To that, Hillary expressed her doubts! Now, one should be confident, not a doubting Hillary, during these elections. If you have time, please read my article on issue by issue analysis of California debate between Obama and Clinton:
http://economy.franteractive.com/Politic s/hollywood1.html

It is a different matter that not everybody watched the debate, but I did, and created time also to analyze…

I think Hillary will get defeated by McCain, because young people who are rallying for Obama will not come out to vote. Let’s remember that 3/4th of them are democrats. We want their votes to beat McCain, get the white house, bring the troops home, and channel that money into healthcare and against foreclosures / shark mortgage lenders, etc.

Like most Americans, this Republican would love to have access to good, affordable health care. But when Hillary calls her plan “universal” it sounds like a joke to me. Universal? She’s preaching to the choir. Unlike you Democrats, we Republicans have no interest in being told what we MUST do by our own federal government. You think we’re opposed to higher taxes? Just wait until Hillary tries to force us to pay for her plan for socialized medicine. Hillary’s plan is a non-starter. We’ll fight it in Congress and we’ll fight it in the courts. If you want health care (and I think we should have it), you’d better give up on this mandate idea, or it will be dead in the water. Guaranteed.

“Clinton outpaced rival Barack Obama last year in fundraiser, but in January he raised nearly twice as much as her in January, amassing $32 million to her less than $14 million.”

We really need a president who will reform and improve our education system. $14M x 2 = $28M… So Barack’s $32M is _more_ than twice as much.
