WASHINGTON - Former Hewlett-Packard CEO and chairman Carly Fiorina joined the Republican Party’s national organization on Friday as the head of its Victory voter-contact organization.
Fiorina has been a longtime supporter of presumed nominee John McCain and has appeared with him often at campaign events to bolster his economic credentials.![]()
Fiorina led computer giant Hewlett-Packard between 1999 and 2005, where she oversaw a controversial merger with rival Compaq.
The Republican National Committee also brought on another McCain supporter, former Goldman Sachs partner Lew Eisenberg, to handle fundraising for the the Victory effort.
Another hire: Mike DuHaime, who managed former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s presidential campaign. DuHaime’s decision to pull Giuliani out of the early-voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire baffled his rivals and ultimately led to his early exit from the race.
