WASHINGTON - Hillary Clinton wants to be a grandmother.
At least that’s what her daughter says, and the 60-year-old Democratic presidential candidate isn’t disagreeing.
Chelsea Clinton introduced her mother at a fundraising event in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday by saying the New York senator would be the best president for coming
generations — including, potentially, the 28-year-old’s own future children.
“I believe that my mother is the most progressive and the strongest and the most prepared candidate to be the president that I think we all need,” the former first daughter said.
She urged the audience to campaign for her mother “so that we can have the president that we need not only for us and our generation but for your children and the grandchildren that I know my mother wants to have.”
Grandchildren? Hillary Clinton, who was listening intently to her daughter speak, beamed and nodded when she heard those words.
Chelsea probably doesn’t have a whole lot of time to be thinking about starting a family, though. The Stanford University graduate said she had visited more than 30 states and some 85 schools while campaigning for her mother.

I am so sick of Hillary and Bill!!
She sees something in the polls for her…otherwise she would not have said she will work hard to get Sen Obama (if he is the nominee) elected.
SUUUUURRRREEE she will….she is either bucking for VP or she will make sure he will not be able to say no to VP spot….Sen. Obama watch your back…never take a Clinton word as face value!!!
- Posted by charmingtailSeems to me the Clinton smear machine shopped and hyped the Rev White story.
All of this ment to scare whites into voting for her.
She does not care that all this “Fear Obama Tour” will cause a nut job to go after Senator Obama.
Now she says she will “pick” him for her VP. How comes she gets to pick her VP but they will insist if Sen. Obama wins the nomination he will be force to take her as his VP?
Oh, well looks like the Black Leadership has come a long way….sure.

One thing you all need to know is that the GOP want Hillary..they hate her. They do not HATE Sen. Obama. They can raise more cash by having Hillary and Bill there than they can having Sen Obama!!!
Look…what’s the worse thing about Sen Obama? His associatioons with people in America…the worst things about the Clintons…associations with Chinese, Saudi Princes, drug dealers (his brother) his mother causes the death of a patient and to cover it up ended having a Black man serving additional 5 yrs in prision….When did Sen Obama raise funds for campaigns from the Chinese?????
Clintons are white trash!! And if Sen Obama does not go after her…the Republicans will in the
- Posted by charmingtailThe media wants to constantly talk about Hillary and her comment about sniper fire in Bosnia. I haven’t seem much comment regarding Obama’s similar incident, where he overstated (a term by his campaign) that the Kennedy’s donation was responsible for his dad coming to America, his birth, and his relationship to the Selma incident in race relations. The truth is that the Kennedy’s made a $100k donation one year after Obama’s dad was already in the US attending college. So if you want to cal the kettle black, you need to include all the candidates.
- Posted by BJHas the “progressive” (Socialist) gene been mapped?
There’s nothing fit about the Clinton clan. That branch of the human race never should have made it as far as Hillary — let not the world be plagued by grandchildren. In His infinite wisdom, Chelsea won’t bave children without a mate. Go away bad image… think of something nice like flowers…
- Posted by Don WiddersIn some ways I do agree that Hilliary is a strong mom in the regards of having the audacity to run for president. Yet she is weak in the sense of accepting the fact that she is not the best elect for the seat at present. Maybe if Chelsea decide to bear her some grandchildren to provide her with an outlet to direct her extra energy to and away from her current occupation it may prove to be more benefiting for her than her job at present. It’s apparent, that Hilliary have become exhausted in this position for she can’t seen to stay away from lies, which I hope that she don’t instill such a negative quality into her precious grandchildren. In all efforts I would advise Chelsea, to please provide her children, a positive and open life reflecting true morals and values linking no distinction to race, creed or color in a negative aspect, that their future generation may be more focused and sound in the tommorrow in expose to those generations of the past. I extend my blessings to her and your mom in regards to her future off springs. Last, but not least, I have to conclude that Obama is my choice, for I am sure that he will pave a way for the best for all, including your child(children) in the coming years. Good luck and my blessings! Obama 08
- Posted by Nisey01I was very disappointed in the response of Chelsea at the question by a college student this week:
- Posted by Pat YohoChelsea, do you think the Monica Leuwinski situation makes Hillary less strong as our President?
Clinton’s: As a family in and seeking for more public office - your lives have and should reflect a transparency with unity and depth.
I would encourage you to use these questions as an opportunity to share your deep faith, forgiveness, honesty, unconditional love and ability to grow from our disappointments and failings in our most loved ones.
For Chelsea to respond, “it’s none of your business,”
sent a message of shame versus opportunity and overcoming - an attitude of choice.
Is the headline of this article reallu about Chelsea’s potential grandchildren?? Who cares?
Aren’t there enough IMPORTANT issues we could talk about?
- Posted by MichaelI’m British so I’m not too familiar with the american electoral system, but seriously Jack put the crak pipe down, it’s doing you nothing but harm. If you seriously think that republicans are out voting en masse to make sure the weakest candidate is chosen, then maybe, and just as a suggestion, you should probably find a dark room lie down and get some sleep. Do you seriously believe that voter apathy only affects supporters of one party? Let me paint a picture guys. Regardless of who is elected, you could not possibly be any worse off than you are now. However, someone who claims to have evaded the worst sniper in the world, who cries when asked where she had her hair done and seems okay with her husband getting a little (okay, a lot) of side action really doesn’t seem to be the best choice. Oh, and Jack, you were looking for “sieze the day”… yes it’s “sieze”
- Posted by McShabbyWhen the Clintons (for whom I used to have so much admiration) get in a predicament, “children” are talked about. Remember when Hillary & Bill were going to adopt a child? That was at one of their lowest points while he was president. They, and their PR machine, know how to make them look as if they’re “regular people”, which America, THEY ARE NOT! They are RICH now, they’re no longer from Arkansas! That look on her face like she’s really enjoying meeting “folks” (have you noticed how this Yale grad drops her “g’s” when she’s talking to us “folks”, particularly lower middle class “folks”?) - contrast it with clips of her “real” look, like on that Bosnian tarmac with that little girl - STIFF.
Do I sound a bit unimpressed now? I AM! They had such great potential - I truly admired them both. Now I grieve for what they’re doing to our party. AND THEY DON’T CARE AS LONG AS THEY’RE BACK IN POWER.
- Posted by Oh You Must Be Kidding!jeeeeeeezuz!!!! Don’t we have more than enough Clintons already???!!?? The thought of another whole generation of these miserable people makes me want to hurl!
ps - Jacksmith, get back on your meds.
- Posted by bill salisburyDear Clinton supporters: ask yourself, honestly, if you would trust your 21 year old granddaughter in a room alone with Bill Clinton? If Hillary wants to do something for women she should speak out against the sexual exploitation of our daughters and grandaughters, including that done by her husband. Then I would consider voting for her.
- Posted by Elizabeth“David lier. War in Yugoslavia started before Clinton. Great diplomacy, international alliances and wise use of military without American losses under Clinton’s leadership resultated in ever lasting piece in Balkans and the end of Miloshevich. I call that success. Hillary’s visit to Bosnia at that time, when we felt noone cared, meant much to us from that part of the world. Thanks Hillary.

That’s a very interesting take on the Yugoslavian conflict. The Slovenians, my countrymen, were the first to break away back in 1991 and when attacked by the Serbs, were given zero amount of aid by anyone in the world and that includes the occupants of the white house. In fact, the Clintons were not even in the white house at the time. So are you giving credit where little is due, by simply excluding a portion of the Balkans in order to make the Clintons look good? Need I remind you that the ten day war was won by my people without the slightest help from anyone anywhere? That ten day war would have dragged out to 5 years plus with quite considerably more than under 200 casualty if it were prosecuted by Ameridiots. Go ahead and do your research and find out how a REAL war is properly won with nothing more or less than brilliance against a superior foe. Google the ten day war in 1991 and learn.

“I believe the children are our are future/Teach them well and let them lead the way/Show them all the beauty they possess inside/Give them a sense of pride to make it easier” (Whitney Houston)
I just threw up on my keyboard.
Look at the choices you have. A platitude-babbling empty suit with ties to race-baiting hucksters. A shrill harpy with the moral conscience of a wolverine. And a pandering, vacillating septuagenarian with a hair trigger temper. God help us.
- Posted by David GilliesIf Monica is supposedly none of my business, which I can easily dispute since it affected the county and the election that followed, certainly if Hillary wants children or not is none of my business.
These Clintons’ think they are owed something and that they are fasinating people… they are liars, cheats, and bottom feeders.
- Posted by indcHell no!!New Yorkers would NOT want their Mayor to support a LIAR especially since she was too busy dodging sniper bullets!!!
- Posted by NYYou all realize McCain will beat either Hil or Bam in November, with your help? Ever hear the phrase “divide and conquer”?
- Posted by snarkopolitanI used to be the only person maybe on earth who could either take Hilary or leave her. Diligent worker, typical politician, why should an operator not be a woman? My senator.
Obama? Wonderful mind, inspirational, maybe there could be a little more cake with the frosting.
Their policies, frankly, are not very far apart.
Then the steel-cage match began, with the kidney punches, face it, Hilarians, being thrown by her campaign, mostly.
Both camps have a lot to answer for. But never in memory has a member of one party suggested that the nominee of the other party would be preferable to his/her primary opponent.
I would love to punish the Clinton campaign for the havoc they’re causing to their/our chances, and if our primary weren’t over, I’d be able to, but whatever is on the Democratic side of the ticket in November, I’m getting it, because at this point I’m more than just a yellow dog Democrat. I’m a yellow stink-bug Democrat. I’m a yellow slime-mold Democrat. If either of those has a prayer of beating McCain, I’m voting for it.
There are deaths, of soldiers, of Iraqis, to be answered for. If McCain wins, there will be significantly more deaths.
There’s the Supreme Court. If McCain wins, the Court will more than tilt to the right, it’ll be perpendicular.
So, I’ll vote for Hillary, much more unhappily than I would have before the ruthless, silly, lying campaign of hers besmirched her in my eyes. But I’ll vote for her, and you guys out there had better get a grip and remember what misery the last eight years have brought us.
When you’re bleeding to death, you don’t ask if the tourniquet is dirty.
Hillary is 60. Chelsea is 28. Yes, it’s time to think about grandkids. But sorry, Chelsea, gotta cancel that White House wedding.
- Posted by grannieRemember that it took the first Clinton to get the nation out of bad debts. He gave surplus and balanced budgets and economy was really great. Hillary would try to provide the same.
- Posted by nazirmoHon. Mayor Bloomberg.
I will come straight to the point. Your support should not be based on who is ahead but the City you represent. After all there is not much of a difference between Obama and Clinton’s policies. However Clinton was twice voted as a Senator by New Yorkers and she also won the New York and the NJ primaries. So keeping that in mind there is no doubt that New Yorkers would want their Mayor to support the home girl Hillary. I urge you to keep that in mind before you make any decision although to me it is simple- based on the above you should endorse Hillary. And I forgot the New York times - didn’t they also endorse Hillary ?
