Mccain is a fractious man on the wrong side of history and human events. He and his party will be relegated to oblivion in November. It is presumptuous to elevate Mccain as the competitor to Obama and dangle the losing proposition as an alternative for America. In the coming election majority of Americans are going to vote based on their deteriorating economic and political conditions, the twin sinister and dark legacy of the Republicans. Mccain is inextricably linked to what GOP has brought on America. Chaotic Wall Street, insecure main Street and destruction of American wealth for the poor and the rich alike.

Regarding McCain's "maverick" voting record, he has made an about-face on almost every issue where he ever opposed the GOP party line (and there weren't that many to start with). Opposition to Bush tax cuts? Caved. Holding the CIA responsible for torture? Caved. Immigration reform? Well, he never really opposed Bush, but he caved on that, too. Criticism for Katrina? McCain voted against the Katrina Commission and against benefits for the survivors. Health Care and Social Security? Their records are identical.

And comparing Iraq to Germany, Japan, or S. Korea is rediculous. The difference is that hundreds of thousands of troops were not required for post-war combat in those countries. That was an entirely different kind of warfare fought with an entirely different enemy. Iraq is engaged in a religious war that has been going on s the seventh century, and, my friends, it's not going to be over by 2013. The difference is that the longer we stay in Iraq, the more Americans are going to die. Americans stopped dying in Germany after Potsdam. We already had our "mission accomplished" moment, and the death toll just keeps getting higher. It is a never-ending quagmire. BRING OUR TROOPS HOME NOW.

Obama is an empty suit. He can not speak once he is away from the teleprompter. (Remember the 58 states, seeing dead people on Memorial day, 10,000 dead tornado, explaining the costs of health care over and over, etc.) He is afraid to debate MCcain one on one without a pre written speech or previously agreed questions.
He is just a puppet bought and paid for by rich leftist like George Soros.

People stop drinking the kool-aid.
The ads "seems" emotional and "sincere" BUT, she is an ACTRESS and that is NOT her baby.
It is left wing PROPAGANDA by the radicals at moveon.commies

It would appear, judging from the current commentary, that many of you believe our country is heading down a great course. That the Congress is pretty much running the way it should. That our military history is at is should have been. McCain, much like his mentor George Bush, is continuing a line of logic that has for many civilizations meant utter catastrophe. We need to change many of our "American" ideals before we are forced to by the laws of nature. Why invest in drilling for oil when we know that oil is not the answer, how does that make sense? Why speak of attacking countries before you even enter office? I believe a majority of Americans want change, but who's really asking what needs to change with a clear and progressive mind. Not thinking 4-8 years ahead but 20-100 years. Our international political positions have, in part, placed us at the center of global hatred. America is respected for it freedom, its law, as a place of opportunity. Why lose that, look at history, it never goes well. Upholding our strengths, maintaining our ideals, thats the America we are all proud of. Lets not lose site of our Constitution because of fear.

I'm sure that Alex will be a good boy and listen to his mother. The situations in Germany and South Korea are quite different.

We can stay if we should have been there in the first place, but not if we never should have been. Think Vietnam.... notice we're not still there. Well, except for perhaps John McCain's brain.

Beautiful ad Move on.org. way past time for that statement to be made by a Mother for her son, or a Father for that matter. When you sign up to go into the military you basically sign away your life. You are there to kill an be killed. I have always thought the minimum age for enlistment should be raised to an appropriate age when the reality of the decision being made is made by a mature mind. 17 is not old enough, 21 isn't either. somewhere in the 30's would be my best estimate of informed choice for military enlistment.
Again thank you for that statement. maybe we can see it in the movies an on the tv more often as well.

Good judgment...like the judgment that has led to more than 4,000 U.S. deaths and many more deaths of Iraqis? Good judgment as in the discretion to become involved in the schemes of con man Charles Keating? Good judgment such as causes him to have heated disputes with other GOP senators? That earned him the nickname "Senator Hothead"? That made him think it a good idea to craft a persona as a maverick, which cannot be sustained under the rigors of a Presidential campaign? If good judgment is truly important to you, start examining the facts.

Hmm, global warming champion, financed by Big Oil? Sounds a little bit like Bush's Clear Skies. As to the war, I wonder if you remember that this was an unnecessary war, no weapons of mass destruction, just fabricated lies.

MoveOn's ad is emotional yes. Strikes a cord in a healthy thoughtful way. Not your typical emotionless cold logic republican ad. John McCain however often displays strong emotion, comes out as extreme frustrated pent-up rage vented upon who ever happens to be present.
