If Obama can get more people interested in caring about politics, then that is nothing but good in a democratic country. McCain is not inspiring anyone new; he's preaching to the choir. Obama is making people think and sparking interest in others. We've lived with Bush for 8 hellish years, and so any concerns about Obama making mistakes out inexperience are incorrectly weighted, because I doubt any mistake he may make as a president will be as devastating as those made by Bush.

There seems to be a whole lot-a waffling going on between these two. One question keeps coming up is the issue of Obama being an African-American ( or not ). Has this ever been established and does it have any weight in the election of an American president.?

Ask yourself one question... Do you like the way things are now? If you answer "yes", then you are either one of the elite rich or one of your relations is a republican politician.

On the other hand if you are like the millions of everday average americans then the answer will certainly be a resounding NO! In this case you probably already understand why Obama carries the hope of the nation and our future. The people of Germany (and most of the world) understand.

Vote NO to McBush and YES to Obama!

I am genuinely concerned as a Canadian to read these comments and to continually be amazed at the American people. To have an opinion about a possible leader of your country without first educating yourselves with the facts, selecting a few impressionable speeches without listening, really listening and of course what Americans usually do, is vote for the one they are influenced by their family and friends. Smarten up U.S. citizens and read between the lines. Your opportunity for a brighter future with Barack Obama is clearly your only hope. A Trillion dollars and still digging in debt, poor education, health care, jobs, pensions, plus the elderly are suffering. What happened to the American dream? Quit letting the rich get richer and standing on the corner without any direction in your lives because your letting others decide for you. Believe. Yes you Can.

I heard a remark on MSNBC earlier today that stated that "Obama would not only be the next president of the United States of America, but the President of the World." those were not the exact words, but sums it up. I don't know how many of you read your Bibles, but you might want to pick a Bible up and read Revelations!! What is it that makes Obama so mesmerizing to people? Why do we have Germans holding up American flags and giving a ROCK-STAR invitation to a person running for OUR President?

Obama is a genius. He has taken advantage of being an "unknown".

He's playing the part of being the newcomer to Washington politics who has "no connections". That part is true.

He has coupled that with the beautiful message of "change and hope" for the future like so many politicians before him. It works.

Over the last three weeks Obama has taken virtually every position on every major issue.

His people have been given the opportunity to extract from public opinion polls the best possible combination of positions to take to get the most possible votes.

Day by day as he flips and flops on issues as he learns more and more about what America wants to hear.

By the DNC he'll have all the information he needs to know who he's going to be until the election.

For the time between the DNC and the election Obama will follow a straight line but imaginary platform that will get him elected.

During those last two months the public will have become so enamored with his sweet talk that they will forget all the wishy-washiness we are seeing now.

IN JANUARY THE REAL BARACK OBAMA WILL APPEAR.

For now --- like a parentless child --- he continues to search for his identity.

God help us all!

I'm voting for John McCain in November.

The Junior Senator Barack Hussein Obama scrapped plans to visit wounded members of the armed forces in Germany as part of his overseas trip, a decision his spokesman said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate on a CAMPAIGN-FUNDED journey.

"Barack Obama is wrong. It is never inappropriate to visit our men and women in the military," said Brian Rogers, a spokesman for the Republican contender.

DOES THIS MEAN OBAMA'S EUROPEAN TRIP --- SO FAR --- HAS BEEN PAID FOR BY HIS MONEY OR BY THE AMERICAN TAXPAYERS?

HE'LL SPEND MILLIONS TO TALK TO EUROPEANS --- BUT HE WON'T LET US ASK HIM QUESTIONS IN AN "AMERICAN" TOWN HALL MEETING???

I'M VOTING FOR JOHN McCAIN IN 2008.

There has not been such an eloquent and inspiring speaker since JFK. America and the world needs this. I sincerely hope we don't miss our chance to elect Obama. People like this don't come along very often.

Obama does nothing but create a "sense of change to come". I have not heard him talk about anything concrete in his plan for change. He is a junior senator that should be at home on US soil working for the American people. What has he been doing for Illinois during the last year? Obama draws crowds? So have other men/women in the past- that has not necessarily always been a good thing. McCain may not be the answer for our country, but wither is Obama. Read his book. Make your decision then.
