Michael Moore’s Dream Ticket: Obama-Kennedy

carolinekennedy.jpgWASHINGTON - With campaign observers in a frenzy awaiting the impending results of the 2008 vice presidential sweepstakes, filmmaker Michael Moore has stepped up with a provocative plea to an advisor to Barack Obama: “Caroline, Pull a Cheney!”

That would be Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of the late President John F. Kennedy, and the head of the group searching to find a running mate for the Democratic nominee.

“I cannot think of a more winning ticket than one that reads: “OBAMA-KENNEDY,” Moore wrote in an open letter to Kennedy posted on his Web site.

Moore, whose documentary “Fahrenheit 9/11” went after President George W. Bush’s administration, apparently is discouraged by the fact that Kennedy’s name has not come up in discussions of vice presidential candidates.

“What Obama needs is a vice presidential candidate who is NOT a professional politician but someone who is well-known and beloved by people across the political spectrum,” Moore wrote.

“This is the moment, Caroline. Seize it!” the writer-director says urging Kennedy to take a cue from the current vice president.

Dick Cheney was heading Bush’s vice presidential search committee in 2000 before he became the candidate’s choice to fill the No. 2 slot on the Republican ticket.

The highest office in the land is no business for show business…it’s for real. Hello Hollywood. Do you read me? Earth to Hollywood…

Wow…If Obama picks any women besides Clinton his boat won’t leave the port, it will sink…
The ONLY saving grace this man has is Colin Powell…period
He is the ONLY one who will be able to lift Obama out of the 5 foot mountain of mud he buried himself into on Saturday night.
Good luck to all of you in November because McCain is no longer in a so called “struggle” to make it to the top.

Marvelous thought. The Bush administration has destroyed the foundation for many of our liberties and the Karl Rove bunch continues to ressurrect Dr. Goebels in a manner that undermines our election process. What we dearly need is the intelligence, demenor and honesty of a Caroline Kennedy. If not the Vice Presidency, then at the very least we need her to head the Justice department.

Yes, it is brilliant. The electorate has to have an emotional connection with the canditates and Caroline Kennedy can provide that. Also as a sidenote:

OK since we’re dreamin and don’t care if we loose, why not go for broke and make it Oprah. Maybe she can work out a deal with GM where anyone who votes for the dream ticket gets the chance to win a free hybrid carrrrrrrrr!

Let’s hope Obama knows better puts his ego aside and makes it Obama/Clinton.

Hello Americans?

You can’t be serious.

You’re country is in a disastrous state, your economy will soon be grounded. And you talk about fresh wind coming trough a blood-line. Well since Bush 2nd, we know that th US are a hereditary monarchy.

What America needs now (from my point of view) is an experienced economist.
Mc Kain and Obama aren’t the right ones, you need someone like Warren Buffet.
(Not Greenspan and not Bernanke, they did/do a terrible job)

Greetings from Switzerland

Obama and McCain will help ruin the country even more than it already is. Add a Kennedy ….great….I wish more Americans wanted to be real Americans and support our Constitutional Republic, personal freedoms, liberty, and sovereignty. It seems most Americans like the idea of entitlements, fascism, and socialism. And that’s just too bad. Obama nor McCain will not ever do anything to return us to a Constitutional Republic.
Americans should be backing Dr. Ron Paul.

Jack is correct - Caroline Kennedy does not have the necessary experience or credentials to become vice-president, let alone President of the United States should something befall a potential President Obama. Working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and, for example, being Honorary Chairman of the American Ballet Theatre, are hardly the qualifications for the most powerful office in the world. Social outranking may be fine for New York Society, but in no way does Mrs Schlossberg outrank Mrs Clinton politically.

You folks are scary. We’re electing the President of the United States, not the President of United Way. If “bright”, “articulate” and well dressed are really the criteria, let’s just have the editor-in-chief of Vogue become the President and skip the painful elections altogether.

yup! caroline is perfect, kennedys outrank clintons any day of the week and twice on Sunday.

I agree, brilliant idea. We need new blood and a new direction.

Hold that thought folks, sure the stickers and signs would look great and I don’t doubt C. Kennedy intellect or ability. However in a campaign where McCain is trying to paint Obama as an ultra-liberal is it a good idea to attach the Kennedy name? Remember that most Americans have very short memories and the name is now linked to Edward (the ultra-liberal from Ma.) JFK may be revered by most but how will this play down south? McCains other big dig (small Ma. pun) on Obama has been experience or lack there of. Is it a good idea to put another newbie on the ticket? Obama must pick someone who can help cancel out these criticisms. Personally I think his best choice is Bill Richardson, a person with international and energy experience not to mention a draw for the latino vote that McCain seems to be doing well at attracting. Let’s not get all idealistic and forget how the game is played.

To kill the child it is enough to buy the goods from the USA (under the licence or with accessories from the USA), Georgia, Ukraine and other countries of supporting terrorist Saakashvili and a genocide in South Ossetia.

I’d much rather see an untested relative of a former president who has a blood link than an untested relative of a former president who has a marriage link! Besides, Caroline’s 42 years of experience trump Clinton’s mythical 35 years of experience.

Brilliant idea. She is bright, articulate, great intelligence. She is a person, not a “politician.” She brings the cachet of the Kennedy name and a father who led this country with a new vision.

When I read the headline I assumed it referred to *Edward* Kennedy, not Caroline. Has Michael Moore thought through his idea? A heartbeat from the Presidency and he wants an untested relative of a former president on the basis of a blood link? However “beloved” (which I greatly doubt), Caroline Kennedy would be a ridiculous choice. There is only one female possibility and we all know who that is.

Absolutely brilliant! An Obama-Kennedy ticket! Perfect!

WOW!! Wouldn’t that be terrific!! Caroline Kennedy is a very intelligent, smart, and an intellectual; I suspect that, while she has been out of the political limeline until 2008, she is well-versed on political know-how. I, too, think an Obama-Kennedy ticket would blow McCain away!! Wouldn’t it be a big and pleasant surprise to find out Senator Obama has actually chosen Carline Kennedy as his running mate! Then Caroline could run for president in 2016!! She will have gained “actual experience” to fill the office of the presidency. Folks, Caroline Kennedy, the future President of the United States!! Wouldn’t tht be something??

Obama might have to choose a woman, since he doesn’t seem to get along too well with other guys.
