Obama cannot lower the national debt when we are getting attacked weekly costing trillions of dollars and thousands of lives because he gutted the patriot act.
And where is the savings if no businesses can operate here because they are taxed out of existance? But our kids in Mexico sure will get an education paid for by US taxpayers as it should be right? And we will all get one free windmill to power our houses on every rooftop! Of course don’t run the refrigerator with the TV it will blow the breaker. OF course ride your Cadillac Seville Bicycle to work and grow more of your own food…….And while you are driving to work think of Al Gore and his 50,000 square foot home that eats more electricity than the average small city, course he can pay for his energy misuse with carbon offsets and his strip mine money.

Democrats reclaimed both houses of congress under the banner of fixing gasoline prices, working across the isle and making the world love us more. So far under their control of congress gasoline prices have almost doubled, there still is no energy policy, back biting and the public’s evaluation of congress (which is lower than the president and about the level of most media outlets) is lower than ever. But, France does not like us somewhat (mainly because a conservative was elected that said the US is not the source of the world’s ills, something liberals and our own media never do).
So with all three houses under their control most probably, terrorist attacks on US soil again after they free the poor GITMO innocent detainees and our taxes back to the good ole Jimmy Carter (great foreign policy) days who will liberals blame then if we are even still a Country and not just part of Mexico getting attacked weekly by terrorist but our phone calls to terrorists sure are not getting monitored, Thank God for that freedom they protected!!???

“McCain has a real track record demonstrating a commitment toward spending reduction”…..by supporting the largest expense we have, the Iraq war?

That’s a commitment to spending reduction I could do without, but thanks.

Fact: NO ONE can fix what’s wrong with this country in the next four years, so the best we can do, is elect someone who has the ability to get the American people INVOLVED and ENGAGED in fixing it themselves, and paying attention to what’s truly going on, and DEMANDING that our elected officials do what’s right, OR VOTE THEM OUT and vote in someone who will get it right..

The apathy in this country for the last 20 years is what broke it. Obama is the only candidate I have seen that has been able to get people involved and has reminded them that WE are the country, WE have the power, WE have the ability to effect change. WE just have to actually WORK at it.

Good luck Obama.

Here in South Texas, you would think that all the Democrats would be running for Obama, Well they are Not! The are behind John McCain. Myself being a Mccain Supporter think that Kay Bailey Hutchison would be his best pick for VP. By the way, I Noticed that there are no actual American Flags on the stage at the DNC.

The fact that McCain might control spending a bit is small beer compared with the fact that he will also try and expand tax cuts for those who do not need tax cuts and will increase military spending by whatever amount his backers in the military hardware industries ask him to.

Look at the size of the deficit Bush has created. It is not explained away by the spending on the two wars or on homeland security. It is sheer fiscal imcompetence.

Kevin B: Do you honestly think Obama would do a better job at lowering the national debt than McCain? Putting all the hypenastics aside, Obama has demonstrated no inclination to cut government spending whereas McCain has done so consistently throughout his political career.

In all fairness, neither candidate has seriously addressed this economy-threatening problem, but McCain has a real track record demonstrating a commitment toward spending reduction and Obama doesn’t have much of a track record on any issue, though if we are to swallow his rhetoric, he sounds as if he’s much more interested in spending than in lowering our debt. This is just an honest observation.

Romney is McCain’s best VP choice. At the beginning of Romney’s first address as VP pick, he should say something like “I’m Mitt Romney, and I have fewer houses than John Kerry, John Edwards, the Kennedy’s and many other Democrats, who like myself, have a desire to help ease the economic burden that Americans are currently facing. I have the economic experience to do just that.”

let see. What we did in seven years. we are stiil near setting a record for consecutive quarters without a recession. something Clinton could not do. But most importantly we have freed over 50 million people from tyranny . But if you are a liberal you really don’t care about other people’s freedoms just yours to take moneys and liberties from those of us that earn money and create liberties.Imagine the gaul of our country to give another 50 million people the right to make their own decisions about what is right or wrong. I guess we should have done what the demoncrates did in 1975 and let the communist left wing know it alls have free reign like what was done in Vietnam.

What can a country achieve in 7 years?!?

“…Seven years … Seven years … Oh, that’s right. China was awarded these Olympic Games on July 13, 2001 — just two months before 9/11.”

And what have we done in the past 7 years. Entered into an unnecessary war in Iraq, and couldn’t finish a war in Afghanistan. Budget surplus ,to record budget deficit. High employment and rising wages, to higher unemployment and lower or stagnant wages. World leaders to also-ran. From a shining city on the hill, to bitter national, racial and religious divide.

I’m not complaining. I take as much blame for the past 7 years. I, we, didn’t do enough to make sure the administration changed in 2004. This year can be different.

Instead of complaining, I, we, can ask “what do I want the next 7 years to be like? What world, country, and future do I want to look back on in 7 years? And what candidate believes in what I believe in?”
