Obama gets ovation with ‘lipstick on pig’

LEBANON, Va - Democrat Barack Obama enjoys poking fun at his Republican opponents and their claims to being “agents of change.”

But Obama’s comments at a town-hall meeting in southwestern Virginia may have been misinteobamadayton.jpgrpreted by the audience.

“You can put lipstick on a pig. It’s still a pig,” he said as the crowd cheered and yelled and eventually got to their feet.

“You can wrap an old fish in a piece of paper called change. It’s still gonna stink.”

“We’ve had enough of the same old thing.”

The audience, which had a particularly strong reaction whenever Obama mentioned Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin, appeared to enjoy the “lipstick” comment the most.

When Palin gave her acceptance speech at the Republican convention in St. Paul she joked about being a hockey mom, saying the only difference between a pitbull and a hockey mom was lipstick.

Oh, I see a pig all right. A nasty, stinky, chauvinistic pig with big ears and a running mate named Biden. Obama has clearly abandoned any semblance of civility. Watch the video. It’s obviously an intentional reference.

Please he obviously knew what he was saying, the word “lipstick” has become a central theme in Palin’s campaign. If Obama’s crew can say that community organizer is code for black, then this was a direct attack on the feminity of Palin.

[...] election is just beginning to get nasty. Now McCain’s campaign is accusing Obama of calling Palin a “pig.” McCain’s camp immediately feigned outrage and played the gender card. __________________ The Gnome [...]

I HOPE YOU APOLOGIZE FOR THAT ANTI SEMITIC STATEMENT YOU MADE.
JEWS AND CHRISTIANS STAND UNITED AGAINST ALL EVIL, I DON’T THINK YOU UNDERSTAND WHERE YOU PLACED YOURSELF AT.
I WOULDN’T WANT TO BE IN YOUR SHOES, POKING AT THE APPLE OF GOD’S EYE!

What is shocking is none of your supporters are even aware you made a racial slur of which a lot of muslim terrorists make of the Jews and Christians.
..and Palin has a relationship with Jesus, it isn’t “religion”!
Palin ain’t Failin and McCain WILL Gain!

The pig crack was offensive. I bet a lot of women will be ticked at that one. Even if he did not intentionally mean it that way, it suggests what’s going on in his mind and perhaps even his attitude toward women. Not a pretty picture.

Sick. This guy, who claims to be a new breed of politician, knows no bounds to his depravity. Lipstick and smelly fish? Shame on him and all who applauded him. Disgusting in the utmost. He is a fraud.

That is, vote Obama and Biden!

… I must add, if the shoe fits so well, they (mcCain & Palin) must wear it.

One or two people are upset about Obama’s “lipstick on a pig” remark, saying Obama was talking about Sarah Palin. I say, don’t take it personally; this is politics. Anyway, it would serve her right for denegrating Obama’s experience as a community organizer, a job that helps people live better lives.

Palin is a religious nut, she opposes abortion rights, supports abstinence education but can’t even keep her own daughter from getting pregnant, is fiscally irresponsible, and has ZERO NATIONAL EXPERIENCE. I’m voting for Obama, and for Joe Biden as VP, because both of them have national experience working in Congress on issues that are vitally important to America and to the world. I believe that if Americans elect McCain and Palin, they will eventually regret their votes. Vote Obama and Palin for a strong defense, a revitalized economy, and a new direction for America.

They called her lipstick.
The pig is the same old Republican policies.

Obama is…Ah, heck, I’m still nor going to vote for him. I don’t care how ‘cute’ he tries to get.

It should be noted that the lipstick on a pig comment is referring to the PORK that Sarah Palin has helped push though NOT that she looks like a pig. Of course she is beautiful, everyone knows that.

Wow, what happened to Obama’s committment to not attack, or rise above personal attacks and insults? It looks like he shows his true self, yet again. This is seriously so transparent that he can’t do one stop without insulting his opponants and people in general. Can he grow up? We want a grown up in the White House, not an immature `he said it first’ whining, first year senator. We all know exactly what he was saying. He knows Palin talked about lipstick on a pit bull– everyone heard that, so for him to insult her and call her a `pig’ was seriously below even him. He used an insulting sterotype yesterday, referring to the name `Muhammad the bomber’ and `Muhammad the cab driver’ — It appears that Mr. Obama thinks that someone named Muhammad must be a cab driver. Is that competely bigoted and elitest? Wow, it is worse that his comment to a San Francisco crowd, that was not supposed to be public; that people in Pennsylvania are bitter and cling to their guns and religion. Seriously, this guy is way out of touch with real life. Biden made a similar comment a few months back about people from India. Why would anyone trust these two with such brazen disregard for people of other nationalities. Making fun of accents and professions based on their names. I hope people are watching closely. Wow, this has really derailed. It is sad to see such hypocracy before our eyes. They seem to think it’s okay, because they keep doing it. It looks like Obama Gaffe-a-meter is running more than Biden’s. McCain call Obama a name. Obama actually called Palin and McCain liars. That is a first in presidential politics. It looks like this is more of what we can expect from him. I can see that Obama is `new on the scene’. No laws written by him, no bi-partisan record AT ALL, except a bunch of votes in the State Senate `present’. One final thought…. Obama was the head of a committee. He has not held one meeting yet. How can we trust him to be in charge of tremendously important things if he can’t even hold 1 meeting. Where is the outrage over this sort of disregard for responsibility. It looks like poor judgement to me. He has run his campaign longer than he had been a senator when he announced his run. It looks like more deceipt is on the way. Go McCain and Palin, keep up the class and responsible behavior.

He was not talking about her daughter,so it was very funny.
When is the government going to stop forcing people to give jobs and money to women.Have palin spend her own money
and not the people’s money carting around her kids.

He hit the nail on the head. Twice. Not everyone in America is as gullible as the Fox/Republican Network would have the public (voters) believe.

Apoligize, Barry!
Do it now, do it often.
The women of America do not appreciate one of theirs being compared to a pig and no amount of sycophants will protect you from the wrath of women.
As a married man, I know that no matter the reference, no matter the meaning, if I didn’t instantly offer a complete and all-encompassing apology or an immediate offer to buy dinner, roses, wash her car or just going silent and getting busy on something in the garage, I would be “dead man walking.”
The apology should be in writing.

Remember those comments. They’ve sunk the Obama campaign.

G’day
