Guess what over at the official website of the Democrats they had the discussion about Sarah being a pig with lipstick on a week or what ago. Chances are they have removed it now.

Is it co-incidence? Obama just confirmed why Bill Clinton refers to him as a Chicago thug.

Karl Rove is one of McCain’s strategists, and all of them are big-time corporate lobbyists. It is the height of sexism to use her as Geritol for this old man and his campaign and yet forbid her to speak with reporters. Everything the Republicans say in their campaign about McCain and Palin is a lie. McCain used the “lipstick on a pig” metaphor twice during this campaign about Hilary Clinton’s healthcare plan. It’s the same old thing, all the time. Lie about everything, avoid any discussion of real issues, confuse people who don’t go far enough to learn the truth for themselves–and when you get to power, sell out the people in favor of corporations. Watch out, America–if Republicans get one more fundamentalist on the Supreme Court, the civil rights Bush II didn’t take away will be stripped away over time, and there will be no going back. When McCain says he wants “strict constructionists” on the Court, he means he wants to go back to what the people who wrote the Constitution in 1788 meant by, “All men are created equal,” that is–all white men who own land–and nobody else. DON’T BE FOOLED BY SPIN.

Of course it is a common saying. That doesn’t negate the fact that one needs to be very careful about making potentially inflammatory statements. There are plenty of other old adages that would have worked in this case.

As others have pointed out “calling a spade, a spade” is also a common expression, and could be used in many instances. However, can you imagine what would happen if the McCain/Palin camp used it in a speech?

I mean, seriously. He had to know the lipstick on a pig comment would be a dumb choice, especially after the “lipstick on a pitbull” Hockey Mom thing.

It’s not my election, and not my business who wins, but I thought he was smarter than that.

When McCain uses “putting lipstick on pig” regarding Hillary Clinton, it’s apparently OK but when Obama uses the common saying, the republican spin and sound bite machine cries foul. What a double standard?

I think since McCain’s “change” does not have any real substance the only way they can respond is acting offended and they create an TV ad, taking 3 bits of out of context. If you listen to full obama speech, its very clear from the context what he is talking about.

Double standards are plenty in Karl Rowe/Rush Limbaough dirty politics. If a Democratic Candidate’s child is expecting a baby conceived out of wed-lock, the GOP radio cohorts would be attaching that person day and night as not being a presidental family. Yet, they do not have a problem with their own candidates.

Talk about double standards, when republicans spout off lies and take pot shots all of these, so called Americans just remain quiet, but when a democrat speaks up all of the sudden an out poor? The GOP is full of a bunch of religious zealots, overeducated s**t heads, and oh yes morons. Right now Obama is ahead in the Electoral college
and probably will stay there.

First, John McCain speaks of “lipstick on a pig.” He was apparently addressing Hillary Clinton’s universal health care initiative of some 15 years ago, as compared to Barack Obama’s universal health care plan of today. What about John’s health care plan? The wide divide of difference between the republican & democrat plans will be debated very soon between the two presidential candidates.

Barack Obama then speaks of “lipstick on a pig.” He was talking about the republican ticket that so recently began parading as a change agent (rather than an experience agent)…when in fact said ticket is nothing of the sort. That is not debatable, i.e., it is obvious that the republican ticket is no change agent once the lipstick is wiped off.

Nancy Pfotenhauer speaks out for Sarah Palin, Mr. & Mrs. Reader! Why? Because Nancy wears lipstick…or because she likes to flap her lips?

Nancy says that Sarah is not a lipsticked pig.

While Sarah may not be a lipsticked pig, she is a lipsticked hockey mom by her own admission. Likewise by her own admission, Sarah has stated over and over and over and over again that when she is de-lipsticked that she can readily be compared to a dog, i.e., a pit bull.

Sarah started all of this lipstick stuff when she ad-libbed at the republican convention, i.e., she didn’t stick to her script. That must be why John is almost always looking over her shoulder now to ensure that she doesn’t again deviate from the comments scripted by his behind the scenes playwrites. I wonder if John will accompany Sarah to her debate with Joe Biden?

P.S. All of this makes one wonder if “lipstick on a pig” could be applied to the English monarchy whose members invented their own church and biblical history to “barely disguise” their mortal sins. Political scripts are intended to be closely and literally adhered to. This same rule could be said to apply to the King James I’s (of England) version of biblical events and history that Sarah apparently takes so literally…this, even though its translation from Greek, Latin & Hebrew was managed by a monarch whose entire hereditary line (beginning with King Henry VIII and his 6 convenient wives and various mistresses) consisted of nothing more than a throng of iniquitous thugs and murderers (i.e., killers of their own wives and siblings when it suited them). In other words, biblical events and history were rewritten by James I in many subtle ways to justify Henry’s convenient departure from the Roman Catholic faith…so that he could commit terrible sins under the blessed umbrella of the Anglican Protestant Church of England.

I don’t know how McCain who I am sure heard the same thing I heard is saying that Obama called Sarah a pig. Maybe since she is getting more attention than McCain he thinks of her as a pig.

My wife and I were very disappointed with the democratic party selecting of Obama. We had planned to vote for McCain this fall until he selected his vp choice. Now it appears he is pandering to disgruntled Hillary supporters,and has not selected a vp who is credible to become presidentshould something happen to McCain. Now we have to plan on voting for Obama.

Is the GOP that desperate that they would take a colloquial phrase, a phrase mind you, that was used by MCCAIN in the primaries to speak on Hillary’s health care program and try to keep it as a talking point. Disgusting and juvenile is the game these Rovian’s play. I watched that RN Bashing C in which I heard several references to Obama’s time as a ‘community organizer’ and raked him over the coals. How belittling was that entertaining exchange. Barack won’t say it, but this hypocracy exhibited by these so called conservatives and neo-cons in the midst of the worst 8 years of my life in insulting to the intelligence of Americans and the world.
If Palin/McCain (the real order of the ticket) was so offended, why didn’t they, themselves, make a public demand for an apology? They went right on with that same tire stump speech. Business as usual. I saw somebody request that Obama ‘grow up.’ You talk to that senior citizen you endorse and tell him to grow (heshould be more grown than everybody) 1. keep a campaign staff long enough for your message to resonate with them so they can drive your message home to the public 2. Have a consistent message, you know like ‘Experience’ or ‘Maverick,’ that is actually believable coming from you. You’re not change McCain and you know it. You don’t even know how to talk about change in a way that is convincing to your base, let alone the rest of the country 3. Stop straddling the fence; you’re a Republican so be one and own the failure of your party to the full depths of it’s cavern. You weren’t strong enough to win against Bush, with your, at the time, 18 years of experience and war hero status. you don’t get to reinvent yourself as change and still be endorsed by the GOP. You should have run ‘Independent’ or at the very least, chosen Lieberman (who you really wanted as VP) to prove this Maverick status. Confess that you got punked by the controllers of your party so we can end this farce. 4. It is time to strengthen the buying power of the upper middle to lower classes. That is the only way the economy will stablize. People need to be able to keep their homes. They deserve to make enough money to feed, care for, and entertain their families. This is not a trickle down time, but a foundation building time and I don’t hear anything coming out of McCain’s mouth signifying that he understands this. ‘Lipstick?!?’ I’m more offended that in a time where I have watched neighborhoods all around me change due to foreclosures, and inability to maintain or sell homes, McCain doesn’t have the presence of mind to count off an approximation of how many homes he and his wife own. I’m offended that as a man, I can respect a woman enough to listen to what comes out of her mouth, and unbiased, formulate opinions on her views just as I would with a man, but these faux-femanists would suggest to the media and the rest of the world that they have to ‘protect’ Palin from being ‘discriminated’ against. Hello, that’s an oxy moron, morons. You’re calling for deference in an arena of indifference. Anything to win. My daughter’s future is on the line, and it is not winnable.
