McCain to attend debate, Web ad claims victory already

WASHINGTON - Ah the Internet world, a place where things move very quickly — maybe too quickly in the political world.

Before Republican presidential hopeful John McCain announced he would attend the presidentialmccain1.jpg debate on Friday night in Mississippi, apparently an Internet advertisement slipped out onto the Wall Street Journal’s opinion page with it declaring he won the contest.

Here’s a screenshot of the Web advertisement as posted by the Washington Post in which it claims “McCain Wins Debate,” with him in the foreground and an American flag in the background.

McCain spokesman Brian Rogers said the ad posting was a mistake by the Wall Street Journal.  Oops.

It’s a fake. The font is wrong. Close, but not Optima. Don’t be fooled by such a cheap trick. The McCain campaign had nothing to do with it. It’s a FAKE. Grow a brain, and don’t be so quick to assume everything you see or hear is true.

Get real CJ and please see past the political hogwash. How stupid do McCain and his campaign advisors think we are (yikes…evidently some of us are that stupid) that we would believe the pathetic transparency of his claim to put country first. This economic crisis did not happen overnight and it is not going to be resolved in a day or a week, so please stop the political grandstanding it is just tired.

Mike/Mass said, “anyone with half a brain can see right thru it….” That’s the problem. On the road I live on I could combine the brains from all who are voting for McCain and wouldn’t have a whole one. My next door neighbor has a McCain sign in his front yard and couldn’t tell me three policy positions he has, couldn’t even tell me what the three branches of government are. That’s is what this country is up against.

The Straight Talk Express is off the rails.

Just goes to prove that the McCain campaign has no plans for truth in their advertising. Lie now or later, they’ll still lie.

Good for McCain! … we already know he’s the winner … because he puts “country first”!!!

One of the most powerful sermons you will ever watch. Minister James David Manning says Obama was born trash and is an emissary of Satan! (a must watch) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=khuu-RhOB DU&feature=related

In this video, Pastor Jeremiah Wright makes anti-American statements and Obama is lying when he says he never heard Wright make these statements while attending his sermons and church. (another must watch) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=72B3tUAqp o4

Will he announce next week that he won the election?

John McCain was right to begin with and should stay in Washington and skip the debate, let the debate organizers go ahead without him as they threatened to and let Obama stay at the grand debate stage and do his lying and bs for the entire thing while John McCain stays back doing his job as a U.S. senate leader.

These two candidates are current sitting senators in the United States Congress! They are paid very well in that position and their job duties are not to hold presidential debates at all, especially when the country is going in the tank. And this economic crisis is a matter needing congressional action and they SHOULD be putting country and their legislative duties before political party debates and presidential candidacies.

UNBELIEVABLE!!! Ready, FIRE, Aim!

Such BLATANT dishonesty! OMG!
The ONLY way that McCain must feel he CAN win is to keep lying and hope people eat it up and stay ill-informed.

What a buffoon!

It was all for show. He obviously had every intention of attending the debate. This ad came out HOURS before he made his announcement that he had “decided” to debate. What a tool!!!

I saw the same ad on

so maybe this “mistake” is being splashed everywhere?

mccain has his spin doctors on speed dial…you can’t win before hand…i can’t wait to watch obama show him how a president handles himself…with class…

Hey Andrew O, the Wall Street Journal (where this ad appeared) is owned by Rupert Murdoch who is a huge supporter of the GOP, so stop whining about the liberal media. The McCain campaign’s (Bush-like) disregard for reality coupled with their overall incompetence (also Bush-like) is becoming more obvious every day and this is just one more example. I think it’s hilarious.
