The cries of socialism are the most rednundant, pointless scare tactics this month.

The Wall Street buyout was a form of Socialism.
The whole plot to call Universal Healthcare, Socialized Healthcare was another instance of this ridiculous ploy by the right wing.

Socialism has been in the US Government for a while now folks. Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, Unemployment, etc. are all forms of Socialism.

And deriding Socialism as a "bad" thing is almost comical. Socialism has many benefits that Capitalism and vice-versa.

The best system would incorporate the best of both forms.

It's ok right wingers, you can stop shouting Socialism, we're not going to turn into a communist country. It'll be ok.

Don't feel sorry for John if he doesn't win. Feel sorry for the new Socialistic Federation of States. 51% of this country has bought into the media and hollywood propaganda and this one-term Senator "Prince Charming". 51% of this country is about to get the government it deserves. Sleep well....

Re: comment by Mitch:

I live in CA and believe me, the governator is also a R.I.N.O.

He is a rather big spender. I know he has an extremely liberal legislature but he is, like Bush, very hesitant to use his veto pen. His refusal to do anything about the estimated eleven billion dollars of taxpayers money being spent on illegals is unconsionable. We are 15 billion in the hole. Eliminating much of the 11 billion on illegals would do much to help are fiscal crisis.

Let's face it. The politicians on both sides have done so much harm to our country that we are nearing a point of no return to our forefather's beliefs of what this country was to be about.

I also strongly believe that if we the people could find a way to put in term limits (max 2 terms) for all elected and appointed positions from dog catcher to President we might eliminate "some" of the corruption in our current system. Lobbyist should be banned. These bribers and blackmailers are another of the destructive force eating away at our democracy.

Interesting comments by Paul and Steve.

With regard to Paul's comment about "Docs looking at his medical records give him 60% odds of dieing in the next four years...", it's not that bad, is it? Personally, whether he'll add to the woe or not, if McCain does become president, I think the added stress of being president would do quite a bit of harm to him, but I still think that he'd survive 4 years, unless he goes moose-hunting with Palin, ala Cheney's "accident". I'd bet that Palin's a better shot than Cheney, though, and she probably uses bigger ammo.

With regard to Steve's comment about McCain not being his choice as a republican, I have a similar but very different view. I, too, am a republican, but instead of Romney, I'd rather the US amend the constitution and let Arnold Schwarzenegger run. Schwarzenegger as prez and Romney as VP? I can live with that.

As a Republican I must say that McAmnesty was not even in my top 10 choices for President.

He is going to loose. The bigger problem is that whichever man wins, this country is going to be much worse off, even compared to the disaster of the Bush administration. It is going to be a very long 4 years and this country will suffer greatly.

In 2012, when Romney runs and wins, things will begin to get better but even Romney will have his work cut out for him regardless of which of the two current idiots win.

McAmnesty's choice of Palin was his worst possible choice for VP. He should have chosen Romney.

His stance on giving the tens of millions of illegals amnesty was the main reason he did not get my vote.

I think McAmnesty should retire from politics, period. He is a true R.I.N.O. (republican in name only).

McCain's statement that "You know every time that I've gotten ahead, somehow I've messed it up" makes you wonder if he'll screw it up if he gets ahead and wins. But I digress, he already screwed it up choosing his VP.

It is nice that the man does deal in reality sometimes.

He is thanked for his service to his country, both military and civilian.

Hope he has the graciousness and sincere 'country first' attitude to help heal and fix this country for the remainder of his senate term.

If he is elected president, I will pray everyday for four years that he lives through it. The thought of Governor Palin in the Oval Office as Commander-In-Chief is a nightmare as scary as any imaginable.

I wasn't going to reply but 2nd thought, I'm with Paul. McCain, your more than toast come Nov 4th, he knows it and hoping beyond a miracle that he'll get a win. As far as Sarah "Caribou Barbie" is concerned, if she's gearing up for a run in 2012, she better get some intelligence between now and then because she won't succeed even then.
