Palin grabs her own coat on the trail

SIOUX CITY, Iowa - Republican vice presidential hopeful Sarah Palin took a shot at her own party while campaigning solo in the battleground state of Iowa on Saturday.

Poking fun at the Republican National Committee for buying her and her family over $150,000 worth of clothing for the campaign, she said when she stepped off the plane in a chilly Iowa that she’d grabbed “my own jacket”.

Her reference to the controversy drew applause and whistles from the crowd.

In Des Moines Palin argued that her running mate John McCain, was more “worthy” of the presidency, saying he was “someone who inspires us with heroic and trustworthy deeds and not just words.”

According to Palin, the election will go “down to the wire” and Iowa’s seven electoral voters are crucial to McCain’s candidacy. “So Iowa, I would ask you? Will ya hire us? Will ya send us to Washington to shake things up and clean things up?” Palin asked. The crowd cheered, clapped, whistled and pounded together the “thunder sticks” the campaign had handed out.

“Well, it’s a deal because we want the job,” Palin said when the crowd wound down. However, she and McCain are trailing in recent polls for the Midwest state, including down eight points in the latest Rasmussen survey released on Friday.

Who cares about Mrs. Palin’s wardrobe? I don’t doubt that most public figures spend plenty of money, public or private, on their appearance. PLEASE PEOPLE, let’s concentrate on what is really important about Sarah Palin…

She is an extreme right wing, Pentecostal women who seems determined to roll back the clock for women with her anti-abortion, abstinence only rhetoric. She is ignorant enough to espouse Creationism over Evolution. She is indeed a very lovely pit-bull in lipstick, and needs a choke chain. I still keep hoping it’s all a joke and that she’ll go back to Alaska and live happily with her family and her husband (who, I might add, is determined to see that Alaska succeeds from the USA). No one could make this stuff up, it’s too crazy!

It is amazing how some continue to demonize Senator Obama even as he proves his humanity. Does that make these posters inhumane? Or merely dangerous to our democracy? The pressing danger facing us now is that of a Todd Palin WH. The parallels with Weimar Germany and the rise of the thuggish Nazis who essentially took over a civilized nation and opened the gates to its demons are scary. I am expecting a Republican victory, through voting machine cheating.

In only two years as Alaska’s Governor she has already been found to have abused her power, after two more years I think she may be fitted for jail clothes.

Where we are in this election cycle is a testament to the need to improve our education system. We are not teaching our people to think critically, therefore, they can not formulate questions that are on point with an argument and are easily spun by the MSM. My goodness, there is even a comment here that says Obama wasn’t born in America. 1st-he couldn’t RUN for President unless he was a citizen born in this country (he was born in Hawaii, a state) 2nd-can you not see how the Maverick has been in Bush’s pocket for 8 years.
People, I am a Republican and am overwhelmed with distress over the party. But Palin is not someone I want to represent the GOP in the long term. She’s too devisive and we don’t need to call each other names when we disagree. It’s not healthy. When we can’t think of what to say, we attack. It’s harmful
