If you thought Sarah Palin was going to just fade away, you clearly weren’t listening when she said the only difference between a hockey mom and a pit bull was lipstick.

The Alaska governor, who was the Republican nominee for vice president in the race that John McCain lost to Democrat Barack Obama last year, is already laying the groundwork for another run at something.
She has started her own political action committee, SarahPAC, complete with a website. And she’s learned a trick from Obama — the site’s main feature is a page where you can put down your name and donate $25 or $5,000 or more.
“Welcome to SarahPAC, Sarah Palin’s official PAC,” the site says. “Dedicated to building America’s future, supporting fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation.”
“SarahPAC believes the Republican Party is at the threshold of an historic renaissance that will build a better future for all,” the site says. “Health care, education and reform of government are among our key goals.”
The site’s home page shows Palin against a backdrop of Alaska’s sweeping mountain vistas.
While declaring it is not authorized by any candidate or candidate’s committee, SarahPAC has a full biography of the former vice presidential candidate.
It notes she made history by becoming the first woman governor of Alaska and the first woman on a Republican presidential ticket.
“Gov. Palin has a long record of achievement and experience in public office,” it says, including her service as governor, her time as mayor of the town of Wasilla and her stint on the Wasilla City Council.

Don’t run for Congress - too qualified, too honest to be one of the 100 loser known as Senator.

- Posted by Terry StinsonA huge amount depends on the economy in 2012. Obama is a very strong opponent, I believe she could easily beat anybody else. But with Obama I don’t know. He has lots of money and a very organized team. GOP could have saved themselves by picking Powell in 1992.
The only thing I believe that can derail Obama is the economy. And believe me it might be very, very, very bad by 2012. It is much harder to stimulate yourself out of a recession when debt to foreign countries is high. Remember that before we got out of recessions through stimulus and borrowing, but then we owed the money to ourselves, and the world was not as competitive.

- Posted by brian leeNo, TC. I was not implying anything about Obama. Although I’m sure the Fox gas-bags will spin thing in that direction.
I think with Romney as VP McCain would have won.
I will also say that right now, the Republican party has lost it’s way. Following McCain is a step in the right direction. Unfortunately, the republicans have forgotten how to elect an honest, honorable candidate who can actually get things done. If you decide Palin should lead the Republican party you will be the minority party for a very long time.
I want the Republicans to quit being social activists and regain the credibility they lost with George W. When they stop whining and distorting the opposition, I’ll be happy to vote for Republicans again.
- Posted by DwigthTC, that tactic was the same thing Bush used in 2000 and 2004 except his folks in the GOP sent money to Ralph Nader. I guess that means according to your reasoning Bush wasn’t good enough to run on his own merits either so they had to tear down the other side instead of build up their own. Yes, destruction is always easier than building something positive; we learned that in Iraq. brian lee, what do you want from the left, for them to pat her on the back continuously and repeatedly? At what point did she learn her unborn was going to be a special needs kid, before or after it was born? If before, OK I go along with you, but if it was after, what’s to cheer? Letting a born baby keep living? Even pro choicers believe in that. News story today; Palin’s four-inch heels that make her look so much curvier that she wore when McCain introduced her as his running mate were sold on eBay for $2025. Wonder if any of that money will be used to pay off the Iraq war debt.
- Posted by jimboFor someone who wants the media to leave her alone, she sure spends a lot of time selling herself.
- Posted by getplaningBrilliant post Dwight. What you are implying is that Obama isn’t good enough to run on his merits, so democrats should vote for Palin in order to “guarantee” Obama is reelected.
The bad part for “brilliant” comments like that is that they usually backfire. Palin would only benefit in a hair brained scheme like that.
She won’t need the help of the progressive liberals. She will energize the conservatives like Reagan did in the 80’s.
- Posted by TCPalin “Energized” the Republicans. However, an “energized” vote and a half-hearted vote both count as one. For every independent she brought to McCain she sent four to Obama. Democrats should vote for Palin in the 2012 primaries just to guarantee Obama a second term.
- Posted by DwightMay God bless every move Sarah Palin makes. She is wrapped in honesty … something we need so desparately. She is authentic, energetic, and willing to lead — what a woman!!!
- Posted by Eva Myerhi eric h .this is probably my last posting, reuters is obviously in your camp, which can be expected, not many of my postings are getting past their censer.you seem to be a decent guy,but abortion is a very emotional subject to me,i tried to explain why, but it never made the cut.what is so sad is that the whole abortion debate is interwoven with political dogma.i have not heard any sp give sarah palin any credit for not aborting her special needs kid,in fact i think she would be more acceptable and less attacked if the baby was not around.the kid seems to be a red flag to a lot in your camp, and it should not be so.on a more lighter note, you using the title “rev”to, give,i assume more cred with us conservatives, does not work because your statements particular about giving , show that you have not even scratched the surface in terms or faith.it is like someone finding a 20 dollar bill on the floor of a bank and picking it up and thinking”i am bank robber”it is that ridiculous .so to maintain cred drop the handle.have a nice day ,watch you don,t hit your tongue ,sorry i mean thumb.god bless.
