The official portrait of the first family is in.
There’s Sasha, the youngest at 8 years old, casually draping her arm over the shoulder of the president of the United States.
Older sister Malia embraces her mom, first lady Michelle Obama, as they all sit for their first official first family portrait in the Green Room at the White House on Sept. 1.
It is the work of portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz, known for some of the most famous celebrity photographs of our time — Demi Moore pregnant and nude on the cover of Vanity Fair, and a nude John Lennon curled around Yoko Ono for the cover of Rolling Stone taken on the day of Lennon’s death. 
But back to the first family’s portrait. Hold on, isn’t someone missing? Where’s Bo, the first dog? Is he already in the dog house?
“Bo didn’t make the cut,” the first lady’s spokeswoman tells us with a laugh. “He was upstairs at home.”
Maybe he hasn’t learned to say cheese yet…

Wish he wasn’t concentrating so much on having his picture taken, jetting around the globe, attending fundraisers, spending trillions on golf courses, skate parks and raises for corporate executives, etc., and deal on the issue of everyday Americans dying of swine flu because vaccine is not available for another month, Americans dying in Afghanistan while awaiting backup while he is “making a plan.”
Remember when Tommy Thompson came forward and lead the nation, finding vaccine for bird flu when needed? Where is the Obama administration? They’re engaging in adolescent feuds with media organizations.
We don’t need a “PR President” who only takes pictures of himself, appears on television and feeds us a load of garbage. We need a REAL LEADER.
Can’t someone just tie him to his chair, hide all the cameras, lock up Air Force One for a few weeks and make him do some actual work to protect the American people?

Maybe she needs to read the papers and listen to the news. She may then refrain from writing this kind of garbage. Please respect your president and acknowledge that he may not have gotten everything done as yet but remember that he has only been in office for nine months. If,at the end of four years he has not achieved much, then the american people can show their disapproval at the polls. The first family is a good example for family values. If you cannot say something good,do not say anything at all.

As for Bo - I’m sure he would appreciate his own solo official portrait when he can be the focus of all the attention.

I think you may be taking this picture a little too seriously. Especially since every president has taken/done all the things you’ve just mentioned.
If you want to learn about the things Obama has done, instead of spewing ignorantly, why don’t you keep track by going to PolitiFact? They have an entire page dedicated to tracking his campaign promises, and I’d say he’s doing quite well.

Dogs add a lot of happiness to peoples lives and I have noticed in Brooklyn were I am from more and more people are getting dogs. I wonder if a dog would make a better symbol for America than the bald eagle. I don’t think I have ever seen a bald eagle in person and I know I have never seen one make my friends happy.
