Daniel LeClair was born July 20, 1969 in Springfield, Massachusetts and grew up in Central Florida. After attending Valencia college Daniel worked as a lighting technician for Sports Illustrated while stringing for Reuters covering Space Shuttle launches and other events. In 1999 he began working for Reuters in Honduras and in 2004 he moved to Guatemala where he continues to work today. Over the last ten years Daniel has covered a dozen hurricanes and almost as many presidential elections in the region. More recently, Daniel’s work has focused on the violence spilling over from Mexico’s drug war, covering the attacks on public buses and spending time with the ambulance drivers who are witnesses to the alarming rise in drug related violence. 40 PHOTOS
