Born in Belgrade in 1969, Goran Tomasevic started working for Reuters as a freelance photographer in 1996 during the anti-Milosevic demonstrations. He was based in Baghdad during the Iraq conflict, in Jerusalem during tense times between the Israelis and Palestinians, was senior photographer in Egypt during the uprising to oust President Mubarak and is now based in Nairobi, Kenya. In 2003 and 2005 Goran won the Reuters photographer of the year award. In the portfolio below, Goran recounts his experiences in conflict zones around the world. WARNING: GRAPHIC CONTENT 116 PHOTOS

I am full of awe and respect for Tomasevics work. He is an amazing photographer. Hope he will publish his stories together with his pictures in a book some day. The way he some times manages to capture beauty despite of the violence and grief is quite chilling.

Ex-serviceman 1974-76,Truckdriver with the 3rd Infantry Brigade stationed in Germany in 1975 with a desert camo truck while all the scenery was bright green! WE KNEW! where we were going to go if the feces hit the fan! I am tickled PINK that this despot is finally getting the crap that I among others was ready to give him back in 1975! As for the photoagrapher in this article? RIGHT ON man! You are doing what a lot of guys talk about and sometimes take tentative steps towards! Far out! Your pictures are great! Goran,
Congratulations on these amazing pictures that transcend our one world, our common humanity and greater understanding. They are truly moving, not least because I appreciate you must have risked and your great courage to bring these pictures home. What a wonderful artistic eye you have in capturing the human experience. Your photographs are as close as I would ever want to come to a war zone, it’s so real it’s chilling and it makes me think about how much I have to be thankful for. Regards.

This is one of the best photograph collections I’ve ever seen. The emotions conveyed are intense. I for one have never and will never support any of these wars and/or troops. I believe doing so is propaganda designed to falsely support the way in one way or another. It’s funny because when you look after that fact, virtually every war is started on lies.

Ghandi said is better than I could ever.

That’s the rather definition of remaining nonrational, in conflict based completely within your sensations. I not really know what exactly everyone else on the planet is actually emotion, even so really do know which usually what they boast of being “love” is merely being and as with some other feeling the idea changes. I do think you require therapy regarding dismissing any realistic an important part of the human brain, you already know, any component that rationally thinks about the entire world surrounding you together with utilizes sense..
