Photographer Michaela Rehle follows Ramona Pohl-Uebel, her father and one hundred other hunters as they take part in a driven hunt event at one of Germany's biggest military training grounds. 15 PHOTOS

I simply don`t see how folks are supposed to enjoy this “pastime”. While I can understand hunting for food, I`ll never get it as “for fun” or for trophy or merely for its own sake.

Hunting is not only for the trophy!
Those who do, are no real hunter from the heart! A real hunter in Germany would be a Waidmann/-frau not only ashooter. We try to keep a balance in between the wild animals an also to minimise demages on the forest and agricalture or prevent epedemics (especially fox and wildboar can carry over dangerous diseases) Hunting is definetly wide more than just shooting animals!!! Hunter give a lot of power in creating new spaces appropriate for the different species.
Iám a hunter and I love all animals and the whole nature. Iàm proud to knwow so much abaout wild animals and their needs and with this knowledge I can do a lot to support them. I feel one with nature!
And another good effect: Hunting does not support factory farming!
The wild animals life free, are not haunted, are not doped…
I wished more people would minimise theire whole consumption of meat and rather prefer meat from wild, free living animals.
The “streckenplatz” you see among the photos is not only a control, it is premary for showing our respect of the creature who died for us. Tehrefor we also play a song for each species with the hunting horn (may remind someone of funeral).

I hope this few words show the right pic of an hunter! (my English is unfortunatly not the best any more)

If not, do not talk about but with right hunters like me! (now, you know me already from the photos) ;-)

Greetings from Germany!
