These pictures are part of a previously unpublished set of World War One images from the Archive of Modern Conflict in London, offering an unusual view of varied and contrasting aspects of the conflict, from high tech artillery to mobile pigeon lofts, and from officers partying in their headquarters to the grim reality of life and death in the trenches. 41 PHOTOS

Amazing photos. Photographer’s name appears lower left in last one. As students of the so-called “Great War” we found these captivating.

I am saddened that in less than a century man has gone from this level of war to the ability to annihilate the majority of all sentient beings on the planet with a few bombs!!! Pray and work for peaceful conflict resolution, people of earth!!!
