Hurd gets job overtures, upset over HP leaks: source

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Mark Hurd received job overtures from private equity firms and publicly traded companies almost immediately after his surprise departure from Hewlett-Packard Co (HPQ.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz), a source with knowledge of the matter told Reuters on Tuesday.

Hurd resigned on August 6 after marketing contractor Jodie Fisher sent a letter to HP alleging that she had lost work from the company because she did not have sex with Hurd, said the source.

Dell to buy storage company 3PAR for $1.15 billion

NEW YORK/SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Dell Inc plans to buy data storage company 3PAR Inc for $1.15 billion in cash, expanding its offering of data center products to compete with rivals like IBM.

Dell said it would pay $18 a share for 3PAR, an 87 percent premium over Friday’s closing price. 3PAR provides storage products that use virtualization technology, which allows companies to boost efficiency.

HP’s top lawyer in the eye of the storm again

wings of a board spying scandal in 2006. He is now at the
center of another storm, this time surrounding the ouster of

Accuser of ex-HP CEO Hurd steps forward

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – The woman whose sexual harassment accusation against Mark Hurd led to his ouster as chief executive of Hewlett-Packard came forward on Sunday, saying she never intended for Hurd to lose his job.

Jodie Fisher, a former actress who appeared on an NBC reality TV show in 2007, revealed her identity for the first time through a statement released by her attorney, Gloria Allred.

HP says investors supportive despite CEO’s ouster

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Hewlett-Packard Co said it has received an “extremely supportive” response from investors and customers following the surprising ouster of Chief Executive Mark Hurd for expense account irregularities.

Chief Financial Officer and interim CEO Cathie Lesjak on Sunday acknowledged Hurd’s contribution to HP’s success, but said investors understood why HP acted, and that the company’s management team was strong.

Ex-HP CEO Mark Hurd settled with contractor

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Hewlett-Packard Co’s former chief executive officer Mark Hurd has reached a legal settlement with the woman who accused him of sexual harassment, and she has also agreed to release HP from legal claims, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The world’s No. 1 computer maker stunned Wall Street and Silicon Valley on Friday by announcing Hurd’s resignation, accusing him of falsifying expense reports to conceal a “close personal relationship” with a female contractor.
