Cloud-gaming service OnLive set for launch
LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – OnLive announced on Tuesday initial lineup of games and a new pricing plan ahead of its launch on Thursday, as the “cloud-gaming” service prepares its much anticipated rollout.
OnLive emerged from years of stealth development in 2009 with a plan to offer instant, lag-free access to video games stored remotely on servers in data centers. The launch is being followed closely in the industry, as it is as a potential threat to traditional console-based gaming.

Apple’s changes won’t mollify trust-busters
SAN FRANCISCO/WASHINGTON (Reuters) – While Apple Inc has eased restrictions for iPhone advertising, targeting them more pointedly at rival Google Inc, it hasn’t done enough to mollify antitrust regulators.
Officials with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission have been informally probing Apple’s new iAd service, which is set to launch July 1, looking into whether it stifles competition and reduces choice for application developers.
AT&T: iPad user data exposed via security flaw
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – AT&T Inc said on Wednesday some users of Apple’s iPad have had personal information exposed via a network security flaw, two months after the tablet computer was launched and smashed sales expectations.
The breach, first reported by the website Gawker, led to the exposure only of email addresses, AT&T said in a statement. The wireless operator has exclusive U.S. rights to carry the iPad and the popular iPhone.
Take-Two profit above Street, raises outlook
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Take-Two Interactive Inc (TTWO.O: Quote, Profile, Research) raised its outlook for the fiscal year on strong demand for its “Red Dead Redemption” video game, sending its shares up more than 2 percent on Tuesday.
Take-Two said the game, which hit stores in May, has sold more than 5 million units so far.
Apple unveils iPhone 4 to fend off Google
SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – Apple Inc unveiled a new iPhone on Monday that goes on sale in scores of countries this year, preparing its fastest-ever global roll-out to try and stay a step ahead of rivals like Google Inc in a red-hot smartphone market.
CEO Steve Jobs showed off a redesigned $199 “iPhone 4″ that is a quarter slimmer than the current handset. The device boasts a higher quality screen and better battery life, video chat via Wi-Fi, and a gyroscope sensor for improved gaming.
