U.S., Russia urge other states to join missile pact

Apart from U.S. enemies such as North Korea and Iran, other countries like Israel, India and Pakistan have started building arsenals of intermediate-range missiles. Although some possess nuclear weapons, none of them is constrained by the INF treaty.

I was appalled to read this line in your story. Parden my naivete, but I didn’t realize that everyone already knew that these two countries were our avowed “enemies.”

As we’re talking about two-thirds of President Bush’s “Axis of Evil,” the word shouldn’t come as a total shock. However, I think something like adversaries might have been a less loaded word: GBU Editor
