Toronto stocks emerge from slump with 100-pt rise

U.S. crude oil climbed to above $911.70 a barrel as tension ramped up in the oil-rich Middle East, and spot gold rose ahead of a speech by U.S. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.

You say U.S. crude oil climbed to above $911.70 a barrel. Was this barrel extracted from Mars?
