Mexico cartels go bargain gun shopping in Houston
HOUSTON (Reuters) - Mexican drug gangs looking for weapons powerful enough to stop a vehicle, penetrate a bullet-resistant vest or confront an army detachment need look no further than the Houston area’s 1,500 gun shops, where merchandise is priced to move.
This article is incorrect. It states that there are 1,500 Houston area gun dealers. A simple check of Yellow Pages shows 84 entries.
Can you explain the discrepancy?

The 1,500 figure came from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Their number includes all places where guns are sold in the area - discount stores, etc.
I can appreciate some people might argue that the fact that Wal-Mart sells guns doesn’t make it a gun shop: GBU Editor
