Susan Boyle story

June 16, 2009

I awoke to my Comcast top news stories which included one on Susan Boyle.

How could your journalists drag up the worst possbile photo from ages ago and report that she has pulled out of the tour when she has clearly been announced to be performing today again. We are very disappointed in reporting under the Reuters name that is so clearly tabloid negative hearsay.

“Concerns for her mental health…indeed.”  No one has any insight on what is going on around her, thanks to her team of managers, family and doctors, so please go back to facts you really know are true.

I think you are confusing our news with somebody else’s. Our story said she was back on the tour after taking one day off.

We used a couple of different photos to illustrate the story, one from April and one from May, hardly qualifying as “ages ago.” Neither was anywhere near the “worst possible photo” of the singer in our archives: GBU Editor

Journalists appear to think that only the worse appeals to the public. Drag out the worse photos you can find and comment on a person’s mental status to gain readers. I’m sick of hearing about her so called “mental and learning” issues. She is a wonderfully talented woman and appears to be a kind soul. Any “outbursts” by her would be something coming from anyone who was put under the microscope she has been placed under and is critiqued for everything she does and does not do. Leave her alone already.

If U feel a need to trash, say hurtful comments + nasty mockery bashing Susan Boyle, it tells us a great deal more about U then about Susan. I don’t visit the news that is unkind, probably untrue, and vicious. Evil is never hidden and the reading public can see right through the news deception. No wonder news papers are losing out to social networking media such as facebook, youtube and twitter.

Media control is over. It is more like citizen reader and consumer control. It’s about time..

Well said Pamela. I think the whole world is sick of the media “BULLIES” who hide under the title of “Journalists” and have the cheek to call it “NEWS”. What that poor woman has had to endure in the name of journalism is no less than a scandal and it is high time the bully boys were brought to account. I have a good title for a news story “Journalists~societies scurge”

I agreed with Pamela. Leave her alone. Stop posting her “mental problem”. She deserves to have a bad day. We all have an outburst ones a while without have any fame and people around us 24/7.

I agree with the comments above. Susan Boyle needs Positive Press. So far all the reports on her start with the tabloids and get circulated into the main stream media ,even TV news. Susan has not been interviewed since the day after the semi final .There has never been any proof of a so called mental condition. Her family denies there is anything wrong yet everytime she takes a night off it is big news. And yet the other acts are getting days off too,but no one puts them in a bad light. Susan is being maligned and no one but her loyal fans seems to care. Yet when she does a show we see a lovely ,talented ,gracious LADY. The press is making good sport of her.
