Florida pastor not backing down on Koran-burning

USA-MUSLIMS/“We are not convinced that backing down is the right thing,” Jones, a gray-haired, mustachioed preacher with mutton-chop sideburns and author of a book titled “Islam is of the Devil,” told a crowd of reporters in a brief statement made in the grassy yard in front of his stone-and-metal church.

I read this article on the New York Times site. It describes Terry Jones as “a gray-haired, mustachioed preacher with mutton-chop sideburns.”

But according to Google Images and another article, I don’t think what he has could be described as mutton-chop sideburns. He seems to have no more than a handlebar mustache.

His facial hair might be a bit hard to classify because of the extra cheek coverage, but it’s definitely not muttonchops or sideburns.

Indeed. Initially, as seen from head-on in his public appearances, it appeared that the pastor had mutton-chop sideburns.

On closer inspection it became clear that he did not, and we dropped that description from our subsequent stories: GBU Editor
