Bangladesh says FIFA refuses to move Pakistan game

DHAKA (Reuters) – FIFA has turned down a proposal from Bangladesh to relocate their World Cup 2014 qualifier from violence-hit Pakistan to Dhaka, the country’s football federation president said on Monday.

Bangladesh has not sent any sports team to neighbouring Pakistan since an attack by gunmen on the Sri Lanka cricket team in Lahore in 2009.

The article states that Bangladesh and Pakistan are neighbours. This is not true. They do not share a common border.

No, not even close. They’re about 1,000 miles apart, so it’s like saying Boston and Chicago are neighbors. The writer meant the two countries were in the same region, but that wasn’t made clear: GBU Editor
