Pregnant San Francisco woman killed by pit bull

SAN FRANCISCO (Reuters) – A pregnant San Francisco area woman was killed by one of her pit bulls, her mauled body found by her husband, police said on Friday.

I was amazed by the report about the tragic death of the pregnant San Francisco woman.

No, not amazed by the ferocious attack, which occurs far too often, but amazed that NOTHING was said about the fate of the woman’s baby.

Dead? Alive? How did this story make it past an editor? Any response?

At the time we did our story we were unable to get any information on the fate of the unborn baby. We should have said that.

A follow-up piece yesterday did make clear that the unborn baby was pronounced dead at the scene: GBU Editor
