sure. i do belive that. it can be a real incentive or prize to Obama for the peace he can bring in his term. that much is the confidence in him by whole world or ‘prize in advance for the peace to bring in to Obama’

another thing is, the decision of the nobel committee is always to be resptected. there is no much point in questioning that.

What do you know ?
I know it’s late but better than nothing to a dumb-axx and a Nobel Prize.
Alfred B. Nobel (1833–1896), the Swedish chemist and engineer who invented dynamite, left $9 million in his will to establish the Nobel Prizes, which are awarded annually, without regard to nationality, in six areas ( peace, literature, physics, chemistry, physiology or medicine, and economic science) ” to those who, during the preceding year, shall have conferred the greatest benefit on mankind.” the first awards were distributed in 1901.
Great ! Great ! Great ! Mr. Nobel has been the genious, the thinker and the Industrialist With a Conscience.
I always admire and greatly respect the Nobel Foundation. This time The Norwegian Committee awards the peace prize. It obviously comes about the dumb-a__ Obama, I have a question for you all.
Who nominated Obama ? What has Obama actually accomplished ? any contribution so far ? It’s just no more than sweet talks on international stages with unpredictable results at the end of the turnel.
Is he a huge thinker or a very good talker ? His messages to the world are simply as diplomatical and practical as first grade teacher trying to tell 12 grade stubborn kids. It sounds great but everyone knows it would’t work that way.
You see, Central and South America, and with Chavez, Is peace coming yet ? Israel and Palestine, peace yet ? Iran, peace yet ? Obama promised before election that he’ll brings troops home. Are they home peacefully yet, to those love ones believed in his speeches ? Don’t hold your breath, he pulled troops out of Iraq and send to Afghanistan right in your face.
Next, North Korea, peace in sight yet ? How about China occupied and suppressed millions of Tibetan for a long long time, and now China bullyingly took over several groups of island from Vietnam.
People, do you see peace restored any where yet ?
I do not, I even feel myself embarrassing for what have happened in our country such as O.J. Simpson trial, bank and company’s CEO and officers beg for bail out and turn around rob our tax money for their bonusus, benefits, allowances.
And now more funnier and disgustingly, here comes a great peace making man in the whole world, President Obama. Oh Really ??? or silly ??? Is this another laughable joke ?
Wow, ” Yes, we can do ” stupid ! See for yourself and believe or not what communists or Obama says.
Lady and gentlemen, You are so intelligent to know that ” talk is earier than done “. Remember this proverb, ” An empty barrel rattles louder “.
In my opinion, Chairman of Nobel Prize just plays by waving a carrot in front of President Obama. What do you think ?

Although I approve of a good deal, not all, of the work that our president, Barack Obama, has done to date while in office, I don’t think that work warrants receiving the Nobel Peace Prize. With all probability he will/should receive it in the future. That said, I will add that since 1994 when PLO/terrorist leader, Yassir Arafat was 1/3 recipient of the ‘Peace Prize’, I have lost most respect for the selection committee.

Yes Barack deserves the award and honour. The Nobel Committee was unequivocal in the reason why he was given – “his extraordinary efforts …..”. If there is anyone that fosters cooperation between people today – Barack is the man.

It greatly saddens me to see the lack of support among his own countrymen for the receipt of this award. President Obama turned our nation from one of fear, to of hope: hope for nuclear disarmament, for better relations with the Middle East, for the end of Gitmo torture, even for domestic unification. The NPP is not necessarily awarded for what has been done (see MLKJr being awarded far before any true civil rights progress was made), but for a commitment to the idea and HOPE of peace, and President Obama has stood steady in his dedication to these ideals. We should be proud of our leader! He took office in a time when the US was in a bad way regarding foreign relations and has managed to mend and rebuild nearly all of those fractured alliances. In his acceptance speech, President Obama acknowledges that his work has just barely begun, but I fear that in this climate of hate, he will not be given a chance to complete his mission. Bravo, Mr. President, and congratulations! You absolutely deserve this award.

i think that obama should get the nobel award. like a guy up there said we have to keep an open mind and heart when looking at his administration. i am in 6th and we know about what great things obama has done for u including the stop of iranians attacking india and the united states. so let us think in the positive side. afterall we are responsible for obama getting the award. so if you think it is wrong then it is your own fault. thankyou.

Mr. Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize and dedicated it to “all those men and women across the world who sacrifice their safety and their freedom and sometime their lives for the cause of peace”. But a war played since 2001 by equivocal means may hugely increase the hate and reactive identity across the world. For instance, in October 2009, the majority of a series of coordinated attacks in Pakistan was made by young people against its police, intelligence and army institutions, and against U.N. forces and institutions as well. Those events have echoed eight years of U.S. unilateralism, theologized intolerance, human rights abuses on behalf of security, and lack of financial regulation. After eight years, good intentions and good examples are better than nothing. Mr. Obama’s nine months of government inspire good example to leadership, not miracle. That is very important after Bush era. So, the “strategy turn” of Obama administration that was awarded by Nobel Committee. The Bush’s loyalists are hypocritical for sneering — with absolutely no recognition of their own culpability — that Mr. Obama has not yet ended the wars in Afghanistan and in Iraq. Eight years of equivocal games and strategy errors don’t end in nine months.
