Best Bollywood film of the decade

December 15, 2009

The Bollywood box-officeMore money, a corporate culture, braver themes and a gamut of young stars — the start of the new millennium ushered in a massive change for Bollywood.

The world’s largest film industry had, until then, worked in pretty much the same way for more than five decades.

And like everything associated with change, the repercussions were mixed but we did get some really good films. So while there were turkeys, there were also movies that warmed our hearts and souls.

Which movies impressed you this decade? Was it the underdog tale “Lagaan” or the eternal romance “Devdas”? Was it the humour of the “Munnabhai” series or perhaps the flashy action in “Dhoom” that you enjoyed?

Tell us your favourite Bollywood film of the decade.

We missed Rock ON in this list. Even though it was not commercial success but movie script, execution was as comparable to other great indian movie Dil Chahta Hai. I vote for Rock ON, Chak De India, Dil Chahnta hai and Taare Jameen Par.

I LIKED SO MANY MOVIES IN THE DECADE..
BLACK IS VERY AWSOME, 3 IDIOTS IS FANTASTIC, KURBAAN IS VERY HEARTBREAKING,PAA IS OUTSTANDING AND LOTS MORE….

Cant say abt the best movie but 1 thing tht stems out from the list is the fact that three men stood out extraordinarily-A R Rahman,Ashutosh Gowarikar and Aamir khan. The decade belonged to them. They did their best job,not only giving quality work but bringing laurels to India.Plus their contributions hav bought a change in society and the way people think abt Indian films.

best movies of the decade…lagaan, omkara, munnabhai series, rang de basanti, jodha akbar(somewhat ok), swades and 3 idiots…..these movie came out and gave us something new and refreshing other than da same old shaadi and nach gaana…im a fan of da song and dance routine and these movie had them too…but it all made sense. it was fun and yet it was inspiring. these movie made me believe that bollywood truly has wat it takes to b a gr8 filmmakin machine. we jst need good scripts, less songs and we`ll b good. I do wanna mention for 2009 DEV D and GULAL were 2 gooooood movie. underrated but good.
